Latest whisper - Mcmahon coming?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby JohnBull » Tue May 25, 2004 1:26 am

The same source who told me that Le Poofs Melwood room had been cleared on Saturday has said that the next appoinment to be announced on thursday is Kenny on the board and Steve McMahon as manager.
Don't know if I like this or not!!!

McMahon as a manager? Why the hell?
He has a good record at Liverpool as a player under Dalglish..but he's only managed blackpool and swindon town that doesn't seem too special.

I'm only repeating what a good source has said - still going through it in my head and I'm starting to see the good side - could be a good move!!

LFC should go for the best manager. Forget who the guy played with. Not 1 ex Liverpool player has shown themselves to be a top class manager.

Getting ex LFC players because they were LFC players is stupid.

The first thing MON did when offerred Celtic job was get rid of Dalglish, no director of football nonesense.

Totally agree, the board know we need a top proven manager to get results otherwise we are in danger of losing SG & MO

Don't believe that, it is only rubbish rumour. I heard David Moores is still in Spain at the moment with his families for holiday at the moment.

I heard on SBS that Alan Curbishley, Martin O'Niel and the Valencia coach (geez already forgoten his name!) are the three favourites to get the job.

Rubbish , why would ONeill come to Anflied ? He has already said he would only leave Scotland for one team - Man U.
Hes just waiting for Fergie to go.
Curbishly wont go neither , hes too comfy at Charlton.
I bet we end up with David Pleat or John Barnes!

Moores would want to get his skates on.  It's essential that a manager be in place brfore the Euros to ensure the new man can scout fror players in Portugal.
