I'd go with Meireles (1st)...  At some point he was practically carrying the side with his goals and all round contribution when everyone around him was struggling .. Lucas (2nd) is a close second for me and probably the most consistently improving performer in the side this season which is exactly what we needed from him to somewhat steady the wreck ... Kuyt (3rd) for me only started performing after Kenny started playing him higher up the pitch, but he's been effective lately and deserves all the credit he gets... Skrtel (4th) improved under Kenny but still made many mistakes early on in the season..

Suarez hasnt done enough (despite a bright start and some glimpses) and no one else really deserves much of a mention when it comes to 'player of the season'..

Suarez has played 9 games scored 2 goals and got 5 assists, hes been atleast a 7 (rating) in every game since hes came herem MOTM in atleast 3 games IMHO. we look far more of a treat when we attack now and if it were for a bit more luck (hes hit the woodwork 3 or 4 times) hed be on 5 or 6 goals.

I think hes done plenty since hes been here.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

To go from sh'ite to average is an improvement
To be fair Lucas has been the most improved and is finally playing like we all hoped he would. Although its took him years he looks like he has finally sussed out what hes supposed to do and I admit that he is our player of the season.
Even though he hasnt had much competition...

Followed by Suarez (big call I know but what Suarez has done in his short amount of time far outweighs the dross witnessed before KK took over).

and in bronze position Lucas

Suarez ?
he played how many games? 7?

Suarez got my vote. I know he only cam in January but funnily enough that's when we actually started playing some decent football. I'm not sure many of the others played well enough in the preceding months to supercede what he has done in such a short space of time.

Just imagine next season you could pick one player who would not pick up a single injury for the whole season. who would it be? I would apply it to Suarez. He is the player we miss the most when he is not in the side. I know he's only been here half a season but he still gets my vote.

Honourable mentions go to Lucas and Reina.

Agree with that, our most important player now for me.

strange season, and stranger still the polls in this forum lol.

Dirk Kuyt is the only player who gets my vote, for the Hatrick V Utd always works hard, and rarely gives the ball away.

Out Defintately either way come june: maxi, lucas, poulsen, cole, n'gog,.

flanagan in his 3/4 games or so, and Spearing, in their brief appearances, have shown a lot more than the previous mentioned all season.

I agree with the rest of your choices for the boot but Lucas? You have to be one of the Lucas hate-brigade who after watching a season where he has been by far our best player, still has sh!t in his eyes
