44 years ago today Liverpool made the greatest signing in the history of world football. On that day, Bill Shankly signed as manager and set about turning a mediocre team into the best footballing outfit in the world. Thanks for everything you did Bill and I hope they are looking after you in the big football stadium in the sky. God, I wish we had you now though!
