Please forget gilardino (expensive and :censored: as well).... Even Del Piero too old for LFC.  :;):

Gilardino is class in a glass lad.

I agree...  Terry and Carra as our center backs would be awesome... also would improve Carra's England prospects
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Cisse cost the best part of £15m and is not in Raul's class (though he is a good player with potential). £15m is not too much for a world class 27 year old who we'd get for 5 years and at his peak years.

11 years in one place is a long time. Raul is not a Robbie (who lost interest). He trains hard, works hard and is not a loud mouth know it all. He commands respect at Real because of his consistently outstanding performances for many years at the top stage. Sure, he's played badly for a season. This is why the price is so LOW! not high.

£15m for Raul when Chelsea pay £30m for Drogba. Absolute bargain. If Real do buy others (which is very likely, Adriano, Ibrahimovic, Robinho etc.) and are also v.likely to keep Ronaldo (who recaught his form at the end of the season) and Owen (who has done v.well from subs bench and won over Luxemburgo) there is no space for Raul.

An amicable parting is likely. Joining Benitez, Morientes, Alonso and co. at the European Champions seems to me his best option. 3 European Cups, 4 Ligas, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 3 Spain Supercups, 1 European Supercup and the all-time active top scorer in La Liga. Only thing he's lacking is a Premiership title. Which just so happens is exactly what we need.

Wake up, 15m is way too much. He has done nothing in the last 2 seasons to remotely warrant that kind of transfer. If we bring him in it will be a gamble as he could turn out to be poor, so we shouldn't be breaking the bank.

"Too expensive"
"He's too old"

This is Raul we are talking about!
15m is a bargain price in todays market, he's a playing legend!

But I still don't believe he'd leave Real for us

Raul in the past 2 seasons:

03-04 Real Madrid  11 Goals, 35 Games (League), 2 Goals, 9 Games (Champions League)
04-05 Real Madrid  9 Goals, 32 Games (League), 4 Goals, 10 Games (Champions League)

It doesn't make impressive reading does it. I have always said that he is overrated, a good player but vastly overrated.

By the way what sort wages would he demand, at least £100,000 a week, is he really worth it, in my opnion, NO.

wouldnt mind seeing him play off cisse tho. the guy can still perform, hes only 27 and has a lot to offer. maybe the wages are big, but we are liverpool, we should be aiming a little higher than peter crouch FFS

Raul has struggled in the past two seasons because Real Madrid as a team have struggled. They have been well and truly found out in that getting a load of superstars and just throwing them into a side no longer guarantees winning things at the highest level.

Raul has class, which as mentioned above is permanent. £15m for him is resonable in my opinion. I don't watch a lot of Spanish football but the last game I saw him play was against Barca when he was awesome and scored a good goal. If I'm not mistaken, he's also the Champions League's all time record goalscorer?

He would be a massive signing, our biggest that I can remember. We'd shift loads of merchandising, shirts etc too.

I'm glad we're getting linked with a player of Raul's caliber

The price I heard was 15m Euro, which is circa £10m. Raul would be better vaule at £10m than Crouch at £6m, like a comparison between a Ferrari and a Stretch Limo.
