Kop go for raul

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

He didn't do much mate, I figure him as a flop. 4 years at Inter, what did he win? At Real, what did he win? Anyway, what I'm saying is that if it wasn't for Real wanting Ronaldo, they wouldn't have broken up a great strike partnership in Mori and Raul. And thats fair dinkum! I'll give the fact that in his first season at Inter, he did ok, but the next 3 years, he was tripe. And not worth the money they invested in him. Raul, now, is worth it. BTW, Baggio's still better than Del Piero.

so now someone saying ronaldo was never worth the money to go to real?

is there any sanity left in this thread?

raul - different class
raul - not gonna leave real madrid
raul - if he did, he might join us coz of the passion here
ronaldo - world class (the real one, not the manure squirt)

93-93 Cruzeiro 12 Goals, 14 Games
94-95 PSV Eindhoven  30 Goals, 32 Games
95-96 PSV Eindhoven  12 Goals, 13 Games
96-97 FC Barcelone  34 Goals, 37 Games
97-98 Inter Milan  25 Goals, 32 Games
98-99 Inter Milan  14 Goals, 19 Games
99-00 Inter Milan  3 Goals, 7 Games
00-01 Inter Milan   (-)
01-02 Inter Milan  7 Goals, 10 Games
02-03 Real Madrid  23 Goals, 31 Games
03-04 Real Madrid  24 Goals, 32 Games
04-05 Real Madrid  21 Goals, 34 Games

Only once had he failed to aveage more than a goal every 2 games, and that was when he was injured and scored 3 in 7. In his first season he score 25 Seria goals in 32 appearances, in his second injury hit season he scored 14 in 19. O.K he missed the last season at Inter through injury, but hardly his fault.

Both Ronaldo and Del Perio were fantastic players but both sufferd from serious knee injuries which no doubt effected them. But Ronaldo was and still is an excellent player.

incredible record he has. Before his major injuries Ronaldo was on a different planet to everyone else, he was astounding. Has never quite recaptured that form , but has still been world class since signing for Madrid.

Noted. Still, my main argument is that Raul and Mori's partnership was squashed with the arrival of Ronaldo, and to rekindle this striker combo would prove very efficient and LFC would win in this situation. That was my main argument and I stick by it, the fact we went off on a tangent is insignificant to the arrival of Raul to Anfield.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest strikers ever.

For someone to say he was a FLOP in Italy - sorry son you dont know your football. The kind of goals Ronaldo scored in Italy others can only dream of scoring.

On his day he is the BEST forward in the world.

In their prime Baggio was hands down better than Del Pierro but that lad said 'still better'' not 'was better'  :;):
