Cant say we've missed him, so why not encourage him to get that op now and then concentrate on his fitness levels for next season. As for the Confederation Cup, or whatever Mickey mouse tournament they wanna call it, he can use it for match fitness!! Sorry to any Aussies out there, I dont wanna be disrespectful to you, but the CC aint no more important than our own Home Internationals were. And look what happened to them.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

no i cant say we have missed him but with his presence it wouldnt be so much of a strugle to put out our strongest 11.cuz with him on the left wing and riise in left back seems to work pretty well.but recently ive changed my mind..riise is utter class on the left flank an deserves to stay there until kewell come back from his INJURIES. ???

KEWELL TO PLAY THROUGH PAIN BARRIER

What again ???

Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell has pledged to play through the pain barrier in an attempt to save his Anfield career.

Rafael Benitez is reportedly losing patience with the Australian international who has failed to make a positive impact since a much-hyped transfer from Elland Road in the summer of 2003. If his position at the club is under threat, and let's be honest this isn't the first time it's been suggested, time is running out for Kewell to impress Rafa.

Kewell continues to be dogged by injury problems and a hernia operation at the end of the season looks extremely likely. If he does go under the knife he will miss Australia's Confederations Cup programme and a series of international friendlies. There is of course the option of taking the operation now but that would rule him out for the rest of the season.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kewell suffers fresh injury blow

Bench warmer: Kewell may be out until March

Harry Kewell has suffered a setback in his bid to regain fitness for the games which could define Liverpool's season.
The former Leeds winger had hoped to be involved in the weekend clash with Fulham after apparently making good progress in his recovery from Achilles tendinitis.

But he had to sit out the game, which Liverpool won 3-1, after the injury failed to clear up. And the 26-year-old is unlikely to return to first-team action until next month.

He is now a major doubt for the Champions League last-16 clash with Bayer Leverkusen on February 22 and the Carling Cup final against Chelsea five days later.

His agent Bernie Mandic confirmed the 26-year-old Australian's frustration.

Mandic told the Sydney Daily Telegraph: "Harry's struggling a bit but the club are doing everything they can to get him right.

"He's had scans which don't show anything substantial but despite his best efforts at the moment he simply can't shake off the discomfort and get back on the park.

"Harry was desperate to be fit for the Fulham game as part of his plan to play himself in for the Leverkusen match."

Kewell had forecast a swift return in late January, saying: "I feel like I could jump off the building and land on the next one - I haven't felt this good for a while."

Manager Rafael Benitez knows how to cope without Kewell, given that the left-sided midfielder has missed much of the season already.

Kewell has not played since December 19 and misses out on international duty this week, with Australia facing South Africa in Durban on Wednesday.
