Whatever....

never mind that, why the f**k didn't Kenny change things before we went 2-0 down?  It was clear, from the 10th min onwards that his tactics weren't working and yet he did nothing. Same old mistakes, same old approach, it's a joke

Are you saying that if Liverpool had won the cup yesterday you wouldn't be calling for him to go in light of the league position?

i've been saying for months that i wanted us to win the FA Cup and then Kenny to stand down.

The FA is tough on LFC this season so for us winning the cup in their namesake will be a private disaster for them. did Carroll goal went in, yes it did. and i am not talking abt video replay, if you as a neutral, have to make a snapshot split second decision, you will deem that it went it. especially if chelskit got the ghost goal against spurs in the semi.

we were bad in the league this season but performance wise we were on par with the top four. but this year our defense wasnt very well.

7_Kewell as a Liverpool fan you think the manager should resign at the end of a season if he wins two trophies?

Did you think in May 2009 Rafa should have stood down at the end of 2008-2009 when the team finished second but had gone three seasons without a trophy?

We do need to do sometime about tactics. i don't know the answer...but we need to do something. We can't go another season going into matches without a plan. I am willing to give KK the doubt. For me Steve clarke should be replaced with a tactical AM.

The bigger issue is who replaces Comolli? If it is Van Gaal the question may arise how long will it take for the owners to move him into the manager's chair?

Hang on so you are blaming the coach but absolving the manager who appoints and instructs the coach of all blame. You really couldn't make this sh1t up.  ???

I concur. Pushing all of the blame on to the coaching staff isn't right, nor is it fair. Kenny is to blame for this season as our the players who aren't doing their job on the pitch.

on the subject of tactics...why is it none of our players EVER run in to the box anymore?  Yesterday, we 1-0 down and only Suarez was in the box, surrounded by 4 blue shits....it's been the same all season, and people wonder why we struggle to score goals

As you say mate, been the same all season. And the failure to note and adress this is one of the biggest question marks hovering over the season for me.

I think Clarke has a bit to answer for tactically with regard to this game. Just because that system worked against Chelsea twice earlier in the season. In those games we had Maxi in the team and Lucas and Adam dominating midfield. Spearing physically and in terms of making things happen going forward is far more limited than either Lucas or Adam. Gerrard I'm afraid to say looked on saturday a pale shadow of his former self. It was Downing who set up the first goal for Carroll and Johnson and Suarez who nearly set up another one for Carroll.

Tactically it seems to me that the tactics on saturday came apart after the first ten minutes when we went behind. The team was clearly set up to contain Chelsea in the midfield early on with Bellamy out wide so that later on in the half Gerrard and Bellamy could push on to create something. That approach failed with their opening goal and once Liverpool failed score with the five minutes of pressure after the goal they had to change tack which they coudn't do.

it was an ill conceived system had Carroll and Kuyt been on from the start up front and out wide with Henderson in the middle we would have had a target to cause them problems and a more attacking approach that would have made the first ten minutes a different start.

i know what you are saying mate and i largely agree with it but it does have to be said that it wasnt as if chelsea were over running us, infact the system worked quite well in terms of turning the game into a non event. their first goal came from an accumilation of 3 poor errors, one after the other. that wasnt down to tactics or shape that was just down to individual errors. cant blame the formation for reina not stopping a shot i reckon i could have saved myself. the second goal had a slice of luck to it as well the way it went through skrtels legs, drogba didnt mean to do that.
i am a big fan of carroll but i can understand kenny wanting to set up tactically in a fashion that had brought us 4 wins in our 4 previous meetings with chelsea before the cup final. if he had went 4-4-2 and lost people would have been saying why didnt he use the same system that had served us so well in the recent past?
if i do have one gripe it`s that he should have changed it sooner, after they scored it was pretty obvious that the XI we had on the pitch couldnt put a dent in a rice pudding never mind score against a defence that had held barca when down to 10 men so subsequentially we wasted well over half an hour and conceded another goal before we changed anything.

Thanks for that. I also think that there must be huge doubts about Enrique's future after recent months and his failure to make any tackle on Ramires for the opening goal. Seriously I think he looks one of the worst left backs we've had in recent years even Dossena wasn't this bad.

yeah your right mate that was a bad error by enrique, but even then he should have just brought him down and took the yellow, thats what most fullbacks would have done once ramirez got past them. certainly arbeloa would have, he was very shrewd in those situations.
although he`s going through a bad dip in form i still think enrique is a good player but i must admit this dip has been a worryingly long one, almost half a season and counting. we have got quite a few decent fullbacks at the club coming through the ranks like robinson, kelly, flanagan (and i reckon wisdom will end up a full back) so i dont think we need to rush out and buy cover if enrique`s form doesnt improve next season. i think there are other area`s we need to strengthen first.
