So does that mean he can be abused and have insults thrown at him ? Kenny spent millions also and again didn't get abused nor did Rafa - we were a poor team when BR took over - poor and he got us back into the CL - yes this season we went backwards and no one has disputed that and mistake have been made but the same happened with Rafa and Kenny

So why does BR get abuse ? Is it deserved some of the stuff written about him and towards him ?

Lad, give it a rest and just be quiet.

You have posted nothing sensible in your first 26 attempts and this whole diatribe of defending one of Liverpool's worst ever managers is frankly disgraceful.

The way you are carrying on makes half of us believe that you are just another Manc or Chelsea plastic troll in disguise.  :no

The typical tolerance level by the anti-rodgers brigade to anyone who doesn't agree with them is shown off here once again...  :nod

Worst ever managers ? Sorry but utter nonsense

Only have to look back at the last 20 plus years and guess which manager came closer to winning the title - so factually you are wrong.

Again it doesn't excuse people posting abuse towards the manager - that abuse is "frankly disgraceful"

If it becomes "disgraceful" to support our own manager then it's a very very sad day for the club - very sad. And to be accused of being a Manc or Chelsea or plastic because I don't agree with abuse towards the manager ?! What a pathetic statement.

I have been a season ticket holder for 30 years - follow the team all over the country and abroad and reading some people on here it's shameful.

The club has a motto - You will never walk alone. Seems it's not suited right now

Since when did it become such a disgraceful act to support the club and its staff ?!

It's ok mate... Just shut up and do not have your own opinion on here, however much that is sensible. That seems to be the motto of this forum...

Oh and according to the anti-Rodgers brigade, 95 percent of the fans want Rodgers out... And they are right and the 5% minority should just comply with their opinion...

It's no wonder thus forum is going down the drain..

I can understand people having questions in regards his ability as a manager and there is question marks that he needs to answer this coming season

He got a free first season with a few dodgy buys , then brought in a few good buys and we had a cracking season during his second season and just missed out on the title.

Then Suarez left which left a very big hole in the team plus there was also the Gerrard issue. He didn't get the striker but that's not just his fault - there is a committee that needs to accept responsibility. We bought some good youngsters , some players that have struggled and it was a poor start to the season - players didn't settle and BR didn't seem to figure out which tactics to use to get the best out of the players. We then had a very good winter to spring run where the team looking very good - still missing a spark though and in the end the season ended with a whimper - it was a poor finish and was very disappointing to see.

If BR did lose his job then there would be no argument really - the results this season haven't been good enough in the league and the CL campaign after being away for so long was poor - maybe thats down to his lack of experience but we weren't equiped well enough for that.

He needs to provide results next season - he needs to get his tactics sorted early , needs to get a settled line up and get the players he wants. No more excuses now - it's time to start delivering on the promise from the season before.

All that doesn't mean the guy deserves to be abused - I'm not his biggest fan , didn't want him to get the job when he arrived and believed Kenny should have been given a second season but there is certainly been a lot of signs to show he could do what's needed - I think at the very least he will build a foundation and our squad will be full of talented players with bag of potential - that seems to be the way the owners want to go. Whoever comes in after BR will reaps the benefits of his work.

Regardless of all that - it is not a disgraceful crime to support our manager , in fact it's what is needed from our fans when things aren't going well and no manager ever deserves the abuse that has been aimed at BR

None of your points stand up when closely examined.

His first season was nothing special and bought in nothing but dross outside Sturridge and Coutinho. Yeah, I agree can't read much into his performance after one season.

His second season, with Suarez and Sturridge firing on all cylinders single handly took us to 2nd place and almost won us the title. Had nothing to do with his management, all his signings were failures. In fact if anything the Chelsea game, where he lost us the title was clearly an indication of things to come. Stu the Red pointed this out on here, he got lambasted for it but he was right all along. He is a decent manager, not great and will NEVER be up there with the world's best.

Last season was a disaster from the start, we signed the wrong players. He got his tactics and set-up wrong and it took him 4 months to figure it out before he started to turn the corner. We got found out when we played the better sides and our season fell apart after those games. The CL was just another reminder of how out of place he is at this club and the top level. He was tactically naive and our results against mediocre sides (not including Real) were frankly embarassing. To top this off he should have at least got us to the FA Cup final as getting beaten by a weak Aston Villa side (that Arsenal easily dispatched) is beyond words.

His fourth season hasn't started but judging it on the 3 players we have signed so far and the players we are being linked to, I can't see us finishing in the top 10, let alone the top 4. We have our sights clearly set on average players stabilising things, and Rodgers as much as you want to defend him, is as much part of the problem as saying that he isn't. Are you that deluded thinking he is going to get us challenging for the title again, saying nonsense like "it's time to start delivering on the promise from the season before."

We finished 6th and instead of strengthening our squad is looking even worse. What exactly are you asking for? And what promise? Sterling is on his way out. Coutinho and Sturridge are the only decent players we have. In fact out of the 23+ players Rodgers has brought in ONLY these two make the cut. All the others outside probably Emre Can have been questionable or just not up to the standard that we need to improve as a team. If you look at it as a whole, he has actually spent close to $250m to improve our team on three players in our starting XI. Staggering, simply staggering. There are FIFA executives who are going to jail for having pillared less than this!

And please stop this bs on him not being "experienced". He IS experienced he has HAD three seasons with us now, and is into his fourth now BUT still making the same mistakes (in terms of transfers) he was making in his first season. It's f**king unbelievable that there are still people defending him, that's why the more sensible supporters think you lot are just Manc trolls in disguise. Couldn't care less how many season you have been a supporter, its obvious that your judgement and common sense is CLEARLY clouded on this man.

So as I said lad, pipe down and stop defending this disgraceful individual, who should have walked a few weeks ago when he had the chance. Waiting for a miracle and saying that you are a better supporter because you claim blind faith on your side makes you look just as idiotic as the rest of the lemmings on here. Who BTW usually disappear faster than a fart in the wind as soon as you start having any form of intelligent debate. And revert back to cliche and simplistic one liners.

Hadn't you quietly tip-toed back to the side of reasoning a few weeks back after that 6-1 loss with your tail in between you legs?

Funny how a few more trolls join this forum and you are able to find your voice again.

Shame you can't post anything football related in all that incoherent babbling of yours.

I think buck Rogers, whoever he has been in a previous life is actually only referring to the 'personal' insults aimed at Rodgers. He has admitted all along BR's failings and how he probably shouldn't still be in charge. His point, which is a valid one is the fact people start throwing insults at BR that involves his appearance, his family, his marital state etc  is quite frankly disgusting. If you support LFC as a club then you have to have a bit of consideration for the manager and everyone involved? I mean don't hold back if you think he's doing a sh!t job, let him have it, voice your opinions because that's your right but to throw about insults and statements like "he binned his wife and got himself a young bird" is just wrong. People go through marital problems for years and years and whats to say he wasn't having problems before he joined LFC? basically it's got fek all to do with anything.

So to sum up I kind of agree with what Buck Rodgers is saying, lay off the personal attacks and keep it to his performance as manager of this club.

just a thought

You say my points don't stand up yet most of what you say I have already said - without the embellishments and the abuse towards the managers

There is of course the odd glaring ignorance towards missing a few things out that doesn't suit an opinion

1. If BR is to take the blame when tactics go wrong then he must be give credit when they go right - have to be balanced or it just looks like being bitter - when we came second credit must be shared between the players and the manager.

2. Our players are purchased by a transfer committee so BR can't be assigned the full blame if players don't work out - just like he can't be assigned full credit if players work out - again balance

3. Telling people to be quiet just because they don't agree with your opinion is not what forums are about - they are supposed to so people can have debates - throwing insults at them is not a debate - it's being rude and quite frankly disrespectful towards people's opinion - I haven't thrown any insults at you so can't understand why you feel the need to do ? Is it the mask the glaring holes in your points ?

4. Leeroy has is spot on - my point has been about the personal abuse aimed towards our manager - it's disgraceful , it's disrespectful and it's a clear lack of class and it become too common from a set of fans that used to be able to behave properly.
