The Spanish side welcome the European champions to Seville on Tuesday with Spain international winger Joaquin eyeing a switch to Anfield.

Rafa Benitez was frustrated in his search for a right winger over the summer and Joaquin says he could be the answer.

"I know Liverpool are looking for a right winger and I'd love to play there if they want me," said Joaquin.

"Liverpool are a massive club and Benitez knows what he wants.

"But if he comes in for me he's got to agree a deal with the Betis president."

Joaquin had looked like joining either Chelsea or Real Madrid but they concentrated on other targets leaving the 24-year-old in Seville.

Despite his desire to move to Merseyside, Joaquin is still vowing to send the holders home empty handed on Tuesday, although he is struggling to make the game through injury.

"I'm going to complicate [John Arne] Riise's life on Tuesday.

"We will give Liverpool and Chelsea big headaches in Group G - I'm sure we'll beat them.

"English fans probably haven't seen much of me. But they'll see things that will make their jaws drop.

"What I'll enjoy most is running Liverpool ragged and sending them home beaten."

jsut think of our midfield if some how we could agree a fee for him i  january! joaquin gerrard alonso sissoko kewell
any team in the world would be scraed of a midfield like that , is ay we splash all the cash we got on him in january , ok we might need a cb to but we not doing to bad at the moment

nah get nunez back :D

he scored in the bernebau on saturday and generally had a blinder. way superior to anything he produced for us. :(

nah it's all well and good joaquin saying he wants to play for us. however we'd have to smash our transfer record to get him and i don't think rafa is the sort of manager who'd go breaking the bank for anybody.

Actually if im not mistaken Rafa said in an interview a few weeks ago about the whole Simao situation and said that only certain players are good enough to play for LFC and when he spends 25M he wants it to be ona  world class player. You never know he might just surprise us, after all wever barley spent any of the money we have.

Chelsea forever. wrote:This is true.

I have mixed feelings about Joaqin Sanchez. He is a good player with a lot of talent, when he is in the mood he can really impress and showboat. He is a good creative player, his idol and God is Luis Figo and he might not be as good as Figo was in his prime but he certainly is on the right track. He will be a good addition to the squad (obviously) and will give Luis and Cisse much relief as he will take over the right side. This would let them play their natural game and would also give the squad a sense of belief as they would then have a natural, arguably world class, right winger.

When we were linked with Joaquin I was in the pot of fans that didnt want him. Iv never doubted his ability, but my only problem is he is tad weak. The EPL is a strong and fierce league, one cant really compare it to La Liga. Squads like Charlton, Bolton, Newcastle and Spurs to name a few have all upped their squads and are contenders for that 3rd - 7th spot. With Arsenals 2nd loss of the season already (I have said before the season started that they will loose a lot of games and might not even finish top3) the likes of Spurs, Charlton, Bolton and Liverpool will all gun for that 3rd spot. What im trying to say is the EPL has become more competetive this year, not more competetive betweek 2 or 3 teams but between around 8 - 10 teams and no one is going to be given an easy ride.

I just feel Joaquin will find it a tad difficult to adapt, but im sure he will be a good signing and im sure he will settle in. If signed he would be the 2nd best player signed this season after Sisoko.

Chelsea Forever.

On evidence of today i have got to say he is better then cristiano ronaldo, he just gets done and does the job.

He also is very strong and would adapt physically. He defineatly stronger then ronaldo.

I have to say chelsea this time you might have got it wrong. And your points seemed to be based on championship manager and not of watching games.

Someone said earlier in this thread that he is weak on the ball.  Only cause I couldn't be arsed typing at the time I never replied.  The guy is a monster.  He's like a supertanker with the ball at his feet.  He impressed me tonight did Joaquin.  Fantastic result for us tonight.  Betis are no slouches as the second half proved.

this guy is the best right sided midfielder in europe no doubt,he is the heir to figo and would grace any top team in the world,he has it all pace skill technique and strength,if we qualify for the champions league knockout phase that will give us 10 to 15 million pounds and on top of the 20 million we had before deadline day could give us the chance to sign him if rafa wants a player like that for his team.

I don't know how to say this.

YOu'd love Joaquin in a couple of weeks, he is the kind of Spaniard I'd like to see in LFC not Joaquin or Nuñez. He knows doing better than today-- today the wings were quite closed. I was quite surprised to see Joaquin in the Left Wing in first part of the match, perhaps avoiding Traore's speed and looking for Josemi, anyway that's not his wing.

But it's such an insultant amount of money, and Betis is not in need to sell, Lopera wouldn't forgive us an euro.

Ye super result for us tonight..  Joaquin hasnt proved himself on the top european stage yet. If he does this season we're looking at a 20million+ price tag, which liverpool will proboply be reluctant to pay. Heres hoping he {Joaquin} keeps quiet till January.

Fu.ck me, if that's Joaquin not fully fit then what's he like when he's in top gear??

I hadn't seen him play that much over the last couple of seasons but he's a big talent and no wonder a lot of big teams are interested.

He's got the skill, the dribbling ability and the pace to make a great winger and most impressively he's got unbelievable strength on the ball which I think would guarantee him to be a hit in the premiership.

I thought Traore did ok to contain him at times, but you have to remember the lad joaquin spent all day yesterday with his knee immobilised and was a major doubt to play.

He's as good as all of them Ciggy, he wasn't even going to play tonight until the last minute, as john craig said he wasn't even moving yesterday.

30 millon would be too steep though.

His buy out clause is 30 million noway Liverpool are going to pay that, plus he wasnt that spectacular thats why Rafa wants Gonzalas for around 5 million he could be our C Ronaldo :D Oh well you never know, its just Liverpool are not a spending club and they are not going to fork out over 20 million pound for a winger.
