just posted a link to this article in another thread so i thought i would bring it to everybody's attention. i personally can't see it happening in a million years but see what you think none the less. it just reaffirms how important investment is.

I read something like this last week, so there are some rumours about it.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

FU(K ME!!

Easily one of the best 5 wingers in the world.

Outstanding pace, skill, crossing ability, powerful, excellent shooting ability....a true athelete in every sense of the wrold....

Such a dangerous player and so talented....

I really doubt he will come to us but if players like Joaquin do, our team will actually start to look like serious contenders for the premiership and the Champions League....

Its getting to the point where the only scenario that could see something happening off the pitch is if it goes badly on it. Maybe if we dont get CL and Stevie decides hes had enough then action will be taken.

Maybe the worst thing that could happen to the club is that we stumble into 4th place again and that papers over the cracks, alllowing Moores and Parry to hang on - again!  :(

Ah for crying out loud Mick!  :D

Liverpool to sign Torres

Spanish sensation and Athletico Madrid hitman Fernando Torres is poised for a shock move to Liverpool this summer as it was revealed that Anfield supremo Rafeal Benitez has sent a scout to Athletico's Madrid training ground to keep tabs on the player who is rumoured to be anxious to quit Athletico as the underperforming Spanish giants consistantly miss out on Champions League football. Barcelona and Chelsea had previously been favourites to sign the young forward star, but Barcelona manager Frank Rijkard recently added to his forward line by signing Argentinian Maxi while Chelsea are believed to have turned their sights to Adyriv Shevchenko and Brazilian superstar Adriano. Funds for Torres signing - a bid in the region of €29million is believed to be prepared - are to be put in place by as yet unkown investors from the Far East after Liverpool Chief Executive Rick Parry agreed an oral deal in a recent covert trip to Dubia. Liverpool boss Rafeal Benitez is keen in the 21 year old forward and may be prepared to offload Czech forward Milan Baros to Italian side Fiorentina in order to make room in his forward line for the brilliant young Spaniard.

Plausible eh? Well, I just made it up!  :Oo:

No chance could we afford him, Chelsea would start a bidding war if Mourinho wanted him so much *roll eyes*

Isn't Joaquin the one who breast-feeds from his mother before every game? Either way, if it keeps him as brilliant as he is, I'm all for it.

If we could get him, then great. But we can't outbid Chelski, so unless he's desperate to come to us, there's no point in even discussing it.

p.s. when did the pages get bigger here?
