It's b0ll0cks. He hasn't played well so far this season and nobody knows for sure whether or not he will, but that goal is nowhere near his fault. Does it work the other way around when you win a tackle in your own half and pass it to someone who passes it someone who passes it someone who scores that you get all the credit? Does it feck and nor should it.

Feck me it was hard enough getting people to recognise that his was a significant if not the major contribution to Babels winner at Home agains the Mancs last season, when the goal came as a direct result of him stealing the ball off of Giggs inside their six yard box. Suddenly Lampard tackles him sixty yards from our goal and the goal is his fault? Not for me, not in a million years.

Ok a bit of frustration may just be leaking out because of Mascha's behaviour during the summer and more latterly on the field. Actually thought he played quite well against Chelsea up to the time of their first goal and I do not think I am being overly critical when I say that Mascha has got history against some of the top clubs when it comes to making mistakes.

You obviously like the guy. Personally I think he is a non creative luxury.

Sometimes, not only in this case, but in the past, we see something obvious as the team struggling in some aspects of the game. And in those situations we tend to find culprits in specific players. And we start looking at them players and paying even more attention to the player's mistakes. When this happens, you can even see a player doing a good game and being harshly criticised for 2 or 3 astray balls, that would have been overlooked in the past.

What I'm saying is that some problems of the team have a context. If your CB line doesn't work, your Mascherano or any holding midfielder won't play the same. The position Mascherano occupies, the risks he takes, the decissions he makes have a lot to do with his context. Not that we don't have problems, we do, but I never liked to find inmediate scapegoats to explain a collective game.

Or could it be that the CB line is not working because of Mascha?

I don't like Mascha never have have since that stupid sending off against the mancs where he refused to leave the field and Rafa had to come on and tell him to feck off, that was humiliating.

he may not be on the pitch to score goals but even so his goal scoring is absolutely pathetic.

Lastly why the hell would Argentina's woes be affecting him, most players don't give 2 craps about their national teams these days except using it as a shop window to secure ever more ludicrously inflated transfers.

Mascha has no passion for this club and if we can get anything over £20 million for him then we should cash in.

On the topic of corners I would love to see a stat on which team is the worst at set pieces in the prem, I am fairly sure we'd be top of that table. We are truly terrible at corners with most of them not even beating the first defender, why doesn't Rafa get one of his many Spanish coaches to sort that out or perhaps prevent Gerrard from ever taking a fecking corner again as he'd be far more useful and dangerous in the box?
