Its funny how a player suddenly became so shlt after they left us for other ball club....It's like once they leave, a good player would become a shlt player or a shlt player became even Shlter :D . Anyway, he may be a cu.nt but business is always ugly. But he had played his heart out for us and very much enjoy watching him play. His energy on the pitch can't be denied.

That's the whole thing.  He acted so unprofessionally that he left everybody with a sour taste in their mouth.  He did well for us, but to be honest I haven't liked him much for over a year.  It seemed like every game he was doing something really stupid, whether it be an unnecessary dirty tackle or a late hit or whatever.  He got too many red cards.  Like the red card after we got vidic sent off, he goes in 3 seconds late on van der sar.

Agreed, he's not a :censored: player. In fact he's a very rare type of player nowadays, a defensive midfielder who is among the best at what he does. In footballing sense he will be a big lost. But then he's also as stupid as feck. The way he handled his exit really put most if not all lfc fans against him. He tried to say that he as grateful of Benitez, in actual fact it was just convenient excuse to make it sound like he was not an ungrateful little fecker. By doing that he can now criticize the club because the one who rescued him is not the club but rafa.

I think you will find he will be, as Alonso was but in a different way.

No !!! Not in the same stratosphere as Alonso. He was a luxury player who was needed against the very best teams away from home. Created absolutely nothing. Hardly ever scored a goal. Caused mayhem on many occasions which cost us dearly. Glad to see the back of the ungrateful little t.wat

I think most people appreciate and applaud his defensive qualities. He was however not without his flaws. The physicality of the English premiership allowed him to get away with stuff that would be found unacceptable in other leagues, it will certainly be interesting to see how his "no nonsense" style of tackling is received by officials in Spain.

Where have I compared him to Alonso?
The team lost the plot when Alonso left who is going to be our midfield jack russell now? Lucas? Poulson? good luck with that one.

Who was Chelsea's "midfield Jack Russell" when they won the title last season out of interest? Essien hardly played so it wouldn't be him, maybe John Obi Michel I suppose.

At Man Utd I guess you'd say Darren Fletcher does it. Mind you he does get around the pitch as well, scores a few goals while he's at it too.

Arsenal don't really do "Jack Russells", and nor do Tottenham really although when he plays I suppose you could say Palacios does it.

For Man City, I guess you'd say it was/is De Jong, while Villa didn't really have a "Jack Russell" either.

Two things. "Jack Russells" aren't by definition essential, and when teams have them it really does help if they can do other stuff as well. The best "Jack Russell" I ever saw was Makeleli, not only did nothing get past him but he rarely gave a free kick away either. The best in the Premiership when he's fit is Essien (and that was including when we had Masherano). He doesn't just sit, he does other stuff as well.

Poulsen will stop attacks with positioning and guile. He can pass it too. Hopefully he won't have Lucas stod next to him, and as such we won't miss Masherano overly.

We came seventh with him, it'll be interesting to see where come without him.
