I'm not sure if theres any truth about this news conference thats supposed to happen this afternoon. But speculation is mounting from different sources that its Aimar to be unveiled.

If its Aimar as opposed to an out and out right midfielder - I reckon we should move for Malbranque aswell. Maybe Diouf as he bait?

I have seen nothing in the media these last few days about Aimar.

If we were about to unveil a big name player the media would have got hold of it.

Benitez stated recently that he will not be returning to Valencia for players as there is too much bad blood between him and the club and he wants to put the past behind him.

He referred to Aimar as being a very special player but his new Liverpool side will play differently to that of his old Valencia side as he has no Aimar at Liverpool.

Luis Garcia of Barcelona could be a more realistic option: I doubt we'll see any Valencia players playing for Liverpool.

Yes exactly.
I'm sure we would all like this but there has been nothing but negative signs towards the chance of us signing Aimar or Ayala.

It has been extremely quiet when it comes to us in the transfer market, we defo need a 1 or 2 buys as our squad very thin at the moment. [with smicer our for 6 months and le tallec out on loan etc.]

I hope benni has been planning a secret signing with a big name joining us very soon or something not involving the media.

either Aimar or Ayala would be class buys, but as JBG said Beni don't want to get any Valencia players becuase of the bad blod between him and the club.
