Last I read, the british Deputy PM approved the construction of the new Liverpool stadium at a cost of some 120 million, not between 80 to 100 million anymore.

As for Moores wanting money for a slice of his shares, anyone in his position would want the same thing as he has been supplementing Liverpool's transfer purchases for some time in the past when there was a shortage of funds by footing some 10 million. Therefore, I don't think that it is wrong for him to insist on getting some returns in exchange for diluting his shareholding.

You raise some good issues. I don't think there is too much money to be had in football unless yer take the bung. In most cases the chairman ends up using his own money.

In the end of course as palyers wages and transfer fees increase pressure will come on the fans to pay more but eventually they wont be able to meet the bills so its all a recipe for disaster and then controls will come in.

Perhaps the American model of franchise is the way and I know a poster from America (allegedly unlike the Croatian who lives in the UK) has already posted something on this.

I'm kinda annoyed at the FA and the managers right now and will try and bring it to fans attention whats going on in  a separate topic or if you want to start it off no problem, just keep Redsh*te/Redrider/or whoever he is out of it as we want all the rip offs going on to be upbeat

As for Zara's suggestion for expanding Anfield, I think that's everyone's first choice but it has been explored for the past 15 years and its an absolute non starter as it would be prohibitively expensive as the neighbouring terrace of houses refuse to sell out. There was a bizzare idea to get around this problem where Anfield would be demolished and rotated 90 degrees on its axis (i.e the Kop would end up where the one of the middle stands currently sits) and the whole stadium sunk by about a dozen metres to make more room, but it was decided that it would be far cheaper and easier just to move to a new site.

        What's all this Horsechite about IP's, ID's and Browser Windows. How many of these bloody things have you got ? Ive only got Microsoft Windows and a DVD drive and that's about it.
