We look like a completely different team tonight though. There's a swagger about us that I've not seem for months. That last ball is still not quite there, but it's not been too far off on a few occasions.

??? So you weren't hoping for us to get past Inter then, or did you expect us to beat them in Milan??
I think we have to win this by 2 goals to have any chance and this is the perfect opportunity but Kuyt is ineffectual again, bring on Crouch ffs!!!

We've been so poor recently that I really have a bad feeling we'd get a hiding tonight. Pre-match, staying on level terms would've been a good effort. Inter are having an awesome season, don't forget. I'd have taken a 0-0, take the four Prem games before the 2nd leg to find some form, and hope to nick a winner in the away tie.

This is a different Liverpool though, and even without the sending off we were by far the better side. We have a real opportunity to get some daylight between us and them if we can get through that defence.

so he can miss like barnsley and chelsea? No thank you , kuyt's done well so far , hasn't had clear chances , infact no 1 has

Oh come are you kidding, you think Kuyt offers more of a threat than Crouch you really do have the rose tinted specs on don't you  :D
I was happy with that first half but surprised how average Inter have been, we have to win this game so we need to be far more penetrating in the second half and that means get rid of Kuyt!! Crouch will scare their defence to death with his height.

Probably wants a look at Crouch up against quality opposition as well.

crouch is likely to play, since inter is apparently beginning to adopt defensive style

'day tripper' is played in anfield at the end of the half time

Pleasing display 1st half but still we're not taking advantage of all the pressure and dominance we create. It's too much to ask for a complete change from the slump we've been through recently but I think this display has shown that they are capable of producing better football than what they have been.

We MUST get a goal or two second half if we want to progress to the next round as Inter will be a completely different beast at the San Siro.

lay off crouch

he was just mentioning bringing on crouch as he offeres more goal threat.

dont use barnsley and chelsea as examples. kuyt couldnt score in 120 mins against derby, and also couldnt score against villa... where crouch did.

And fustrate us with his misses , no thank you , i'd stick with kuyt till at least the 50 - 60th minute before deciding on anything

Decent first half but we really should have more chances with them being one cu.nt down. For those who are trying to get it on sopcast i'm watching it on channel 6001 or Shaghai GSports.

really got to create more chances.... inter's defence are on the ball tonight, and are not giving anything away

we're finding it difficult in the final third

Like some1 mentioned , Maicon has been immense , i think we need crouch but i'll wait till the 50 or 60 th if i were rafa to see if the half time talk  had its desired effect

DOn't worry I'm sure Rafa will wait more than that, prob till the 75th at least. But ok I need to be positive and I am getting drunk so I predict a blitz second half ala Istanbul and 3-0 at full time, to us  :D

Dunno bout any1 else but I'm gettin a little sick of Jim Beglin puttin us down. And the pair of them bein so bloody politically correct!! Who cares if Materrazzi was unlucky? He got a 2nd yellow and had to bloody walk ffs. I'd love to know if any foreign commentators are quite so "dont be biased Brian" cuz it does my bloody head in!!

Rant over.

Good first half, no clear cut stuff but promisin for me. I think the tall Guy's got a role to play 2nd half, maybe last 30, but the team's shown well, far better than we've seen with the exception of the chelsea game.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Yeah i wouldn't mind Yossi coming on for Kuyt and pushing Babel up front with Torres.

Well I think we've played pretty well and have looked much the better team. Their bloke was harshly sent off, and I can't help thinking we are going to need to take advantage if we are to see these off. I would definately advocate bringing crouch on for Kuyt (although the Dutchman has had a decent game so I'm not slagging him) and going to a genuine 4-4-2. Now it's 11 v 10 we really could do with winning the game. 1-0 would be nice, but if we could sneak 2-0 than we might really be talking. Time for some bravery me thinks, becasue the game has a slight nil-nillish look about it to me, and if we were to board the plane to italy with that score behind us after a numerical superiority at Home, that would be very disappointing.

If it's still 0-0 with ten minutes left, i would even consider taking sami off and really going for it. Fine performance so far from the lads anyway, with Masherano in particular putting in a typically monster like performance.

Problem with Liverpool is the pace and quality of passing at the moment. Poor passing when balls comes from midfield to players up front.
Benitez did a good thing by swapping Babel and Kuyt. Both are not true wingers, but Kuyt is better from left and Babel from right. And both need to be more in the box (but thats the Benitez decision).

Defenders are very poor tactical wise.
