Increased ticket prices - I,ve been priced out

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby aCe' » Sat Jul 24, 2010 1:39 pm

Has to be compared to the ticket prices of the other top clubs in the country to be put in perspective..
Given the high demand for tickets and the limited supply (number of tickets), it makes sense financially to be increasing the ticket prices to increase the revenue... Many wont like it, but the fact that there's enough fans who are willing and able to buy those tickets at the new prices means that it was always going to happen sooner rather than later... Its a shame all the same though

This is exactly the kind of limp response I would have expected from Liverpool's PR team .. certainly not from someone who views himself as a genuine fan and frequents a Liverpool Forum under the guise of one  ???

When Anfield is no longer the bastion of fierce vocal support and no longer makes the hairs on the back of your neck bristle with the anticipation as the team takes to the pitch ... because... and I cant stress the importance of this the common fan has been priced out of Anfield ..when Liverpool have nothing that makes us special and the seats are filled by corporate Gobites who wave plastic flags ... then perhaps you can exonerate these actions with your carefully chosen words "Its a Shame "
I really shouldn't be so shocked you and I are clearly poles apart in our love for the club ... but your disinterest and blasé attitude seriously rankles with me

He's just giving his opinion then you roll out the 'I'm a better supporter than you' mantra, should have expected as much.

WTF are you on about, ole bestest LFC supporter in the world  " ??? "

I can't believe you don't "admire the honesty" in his post as you so vermantely did when backing Ciggy's post re Hodgson's football credentials in conjunction with his holiday destinations.

:kungfu:

Every response in the thread was pretty much the same with absolutely no insight as to what might have caused the increase in ticket prices... All the big clubs who have high demand for tickets in the country not to mention Europe have increased ticket prices by a considerable amount for a reason... The easy response would be simply blaming the owners which you undoubtedly would be all for but perhaps theres more to it ?!

Im not getting into the whole "im a better fan than you are because every other post I make is about how our owners are big kunts" argument with you again...

A little hypocritical though that the fans would want the owners spending tons of money on players and a new stadium without realizing that the money would have to come from somewhere... As i said, no fan regardless of how much they make are ever going to be happy with an increase in ticket prices. But every club has its 'common fan' base and believe it or not the majority of match goers especially in Liverpool fall in that category.. If the common fan (on average) wasnt able to afford the new prices then the management would never have increased the prices as such; knowing that the lost money on unsold tickets wouldnt be compensated by the increased revenue from higher prices...

You might not think its fair but then again pretty much everything in life works that way and I see no reason why this would be any different. Anyways, that all for me regarding this topic... And hopefully those who have priced out can soon be back out there supporting the club like they always have... I'm sure not everyone who has the extra spending power is a "corporate Gobite who waves plastic flags" who isnt interested and thus cant possibly generate a special atmosphere on the ground...

If that's the case you have little to worry about then  ??? and I will be listening intently to that special atmosphere you talk so eloquently of .. I suppose the sound of plastic being waved incessantly would herald such a din you have  proposed ...
Oh and just for the record this isn't  about being the better fan it never was (That's just in and outs myopic slant on things ) this is about caring enough to take action  ???

I'm th best fan, I got a liverpool bin and cushion... so there..ticket prices will always go up while there are eejits willing to pay extortionate amounts... and dont think a bigger stadium will help. my mate, a massive gooner, says the emirates is just for JCLs and fairweather fans ruining the game

I hadnt even read his post until after i made mine.. Its just how you came across... Which happens often if truth be told...

Oh on another note... Care to explain the excellent atmosphere from last season ? Seem to remember you complaining about the 'common fan' and how the support was lacking....
Point is, the fans will always do whatever they can to get to see their clubs, I dont think most of the fans have been priced out yet and if the performances on the pitch improve then i have no doubt that the atmosphere that our club has been known to generate in the ground will continue for a long long time regardless of owners or ticket prices... Just my take on things..

Trust you to just select the bits you have chosen to highlight .... read the post again ..my response contained a lot more context than just championing Ciggys cause .... listen Bam we clearly don't get on  that's obvious to all who witness our many fall outs (In what ever alias you have chosen to appear under )  ....
so maybe we should just agree to avoid each other in the future
and then maybe you can reserve all the smilies you use in one post (BECAUSE I CLEARLY GET TO YOU ) for a future date .. I would certainly hate it if you exhausted your supply
    there's 3 back to replenish your stock

Not being funny here like an no this is not im a better supporter than you, but i think fans who go the game week in week out, especialy the ones who travel to the aways and in Europe have got a right to moan about ticket prices increasing, were the ones who are paying the money ,its ok to sit there and say but every club will increase tickets , because of wages , but once you start losing the fans who go the game regulary and the ones who create the atmosphere for what we are known for , to replace them with plastics well were finished , As i said before a few of the lads who i attend gameswith are being priced out of tickets , these lads attended  every home game last season, they create atmospher but sadly now there place will be taken most prob by a flashing , texting , half and half scarf whoppers who ask whos he, So yeh i have a right to moan about the heart of our club being takenaway us,
