That's quite a lot for only three and a bit seasons, three whole SQUADs worth of strikers excluding players like Luis Garcia, Diouf, Smicer etc.

Sinama Pongolle - Inherited
Fowler - stop gap, shipped out once it was realised it didnt work
Morientes - brilliant before and after - out sharpish once not working
Baros - inheirted shi.te
Cisse - inherited and naver liked him
El Zhar - kid, no way you can judge
Mellor - inherited and shipped out
Bellamy - bought, never worked out like a light
-------------------
Crouch - top scorer last season
Kuyt - do or die this season
Torres - looks good, new
Voronin looks OK - new

dunno mate, its been a while since we won the league, im starting to fel like a newcastle fan here!

:D

18 years .... Impatient ...... Oh, erh, okay.

Yeah, 'cos Rafa's been our manager for 18 years, hasn't he?

Just a point to our "Rotation is the work of the Devil" cherubs:

Houllier played virtually the same team in every game - he certainly rotated less than Man U and Arsenal.

Where did we finish again...?

Hang on a sec, lets analyse the "new signings" excuse. If Rafa signed the right players in the first place he wouldn't need to bring in a whole load of new players every season, surely the first couple of seasons should have been the foundation building seasons.

And secondly if he is spending big then surely big name players should be producing, or are we to believe players do need time to settle?

I was thinking earlier about the strikers under Rafa

Sinama Pongolle
Fowler
Morientes
Baros
Cisse
El Zhar
Mellor
Bellamy
-------------------
Crouch
Kuyt
Torres
Voronin

That's quite a lot for only three and a bit seasons, three whole SQUADs worth of strikers excluding players like Luis Garcia, Diouf, Smicer etc.

If he carries on chopping and changing every season will that entitle him to be manager as long as he likes? He may not always have had the money to bring in the players he really wanted, but then he shouldn't have splashed out on players he didn't......................... Three Skodas don't equal a Ferrari

Sinama Pongolle - Houllier's signing.
Fowler - Did the job asked of him and cost not a penny.
Morientes - No-one could have predicted his failure to settle.
Baros -  Houllier's signing.
Cisse -  Houliier's signing.
El Zhar - A youth team player.
Mellor - Academy player.
Bellamy - Was a troublesome little oik, but wasn't a bad player.
-------------------
Crouch - Is struggling atm, but was our top scorer last season.
Kuyt - Workhorse who will come good.
Torres - Do you really need to ask?
Voronin - Intelligent freebie to replace Robbie as our 4th choice striker.

So your point is...?

please, about football!!!!!!!

so some think we need more patience than others. no one is saying get rid of rafa, we are all just a bit confuddled with some of his decisions but in rafa we trust. we want progress tho, not much to ask.

Main thing for me is progress, I think we can win the league this season, but if we start playing good football ,winning the games we should and miss out on the title by a few points, I would find that acceptable progress. Cup runs are a bonus but not vital.

Bill Shankly's LFC record:

Joined, 1959.

1962 Second Division champions
1964 First Division champions
1965 FA Cup Winners, European Champions' Cup semi-finalists.
1966 First Division champions, European Cup Winners Cup beaten finalists.
1969 First Division runners-up.
1971 FA Cup beaten finalists, Inter-Cities Fairs Cup semi-finalists.
1973 First Division champions, UEFA Cup winners.
1974 FA Cup winners, First Division runners-up.

Took him 5 years to win the league in a much easier climate.

Now shut it.

He is the one person you hark back to on a regular basis - widely regarded as the greatest manager in our history.

If you can't understand the comparison, it says a lot about your brainpower.
