Basicly says Suarez is coming and Babel going in the other direction.

Quotes from Babel:
Ik ken de club, ik ken de speelstijl en heb met een aantal jongens samengespeeld in Amsterdam of Oranje. Ik hoop Ajax een half jaar vooruit te kunnen helpen en andersom”,

I know the club, I know their playing style, I know some of my team mates at Ajax and the national team, I hope to help them out for the rest of the season and they can help me.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

whatever the hell happened to Lescott? anyone rates him?

and i think we ought to look at a few players in Everton. sure they are unfashionable but they are pretty solid. players like Pienaar, Arteta, Baines and Anichebe should be looked at. can't be any worse then what we've got.

Anichebe is turd mate.

Pienaar is off to chelsea or spurs.
I would take Arteta all day but they wouldnt sell to us in a million years.
Baines as well is a decent player.

Micah Richards looking to get out of Man City apparently. Yes please. Can play RB or CB. Top prospect.

Liverpool must table 'absurd amount' to get Suarez

Ajax coach Frank de Boer has opened the door to a potential bid for Ryan Babel, but has warned Liverpool that it will take an absurd amount to tempt them into selling Luis Suarez.

Suarez is one of the hottest striking prospects in world football and reports on Monday suggested Liverpool had made a move to secure the striker's signature.

Babel added weight to the talk when he said on Tuesday morning that "the transfer of Suarez to Liverpool opens the door for me to go to Ajax."

The Netherlands international began his career at Ajax before making a move to Liverpool in 2007. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, the 24-year-old has failed to hold down a regular place at Anfield and it would appear he is ready to return home.

De Boer is open to the prospect of bringing Babel back to Amsterdam, as he feels there would be no transition period.

"The advantage is that he knows the Ajax system well," De Boer said of Babel.

Ajax would in all probability only be able to finance a deal for Babel if they sell Suarez and De Boer has warned that they will not allow the striker to leave for a pittance.

"We are resolute and do not want to lose Suarez but if a 'super club' offers an absurd amount, we would let him go," the Dutch coach told Ajax Life. "As it stands at the moment, he will stay with us for the remainder of the season."

Reports in the Netherlands suggest the "absurd amount" would be in the region of the £28.5m Manchester City paid Wolfsburg for Edin Dzeko.

I keep hearing on the raido and from friends that the price for Suarez is about £18mil and Babel (possibly).  Has anyone else heard the same or similar?

We have no chance of getting Saurez,  Ajax are just looking to get more clubs involved so we end up in a bidding war for him, would be made up if we could get him but January is never a good month to do business just look at Aston Villa, a possible 24m for Darren fking Bent what is Houllier thinking of

Good players are good players in the summer or winter so I dont care if we bring in people now. Teams in the Champs League wont sell and players usually wont leave but clubs like Ajax are not in that competition and always have a few top footballers available. They bring them on and sell for good money and Suarez is a case in point. Ive a feeling they didnt care for Babel in exchange and want cash so we have accepted Hoffenheims offer to try and do the deal. If they start taking the pyss, or another side wins his signature, reports suggest we have Romelu Lukaku as the back up plan. Either way its looking like we may, at last buying a centre forward so fingers crossed.
