Igor - He has finally moved on!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby El Nino_#9 » Fri Jul 15, 2005 7:45 pm

Former Liverpool midfielder Igor Biscan has moved to Greece and signed a three-year contract with Panathinaikos.
Spartak Moscow were also interested in Biscan but the player chose the Greek side who will be playing in the Champions League for the 2005/06 season.

Biscan was an unused substitute in the Champions League win over AC Milan and was released by Liverpool after his contract expired at the end of the 2004/05 season.

Something of a cult figure at Anfield last season Biscan in all made 118 appearances for Liverpool scoring three goals.

He always gave 100%, not the best player, but not the worst either.  As mentioned previously, great displays in the cl this season but didn't cut the mustard in the premiership. Good luck to the lad, lets hopes he finally kick starts his career

Igor was shockingly bad for months, but in the end he came good. According to the Opta index, his pass completion rate was the best in the Liverpool team in the end. Better than Xabi, Stevie and even...even...even...Djimi!

Igor always gave 110% when under the management of rafa anway!
i will remember igors first goal for the club against palace, when we stuffed them 5-0.
Fowler back heeled the ball to igor.
igor ran with the ball and slotted it passed the keeper. nice finish!
however i remember this moment only for the fact that when he slotted the ball in the net, he fell over his feet in comedic fashion! :D  :D  :D

Biscan seemed to play better in Europe than in the EPL so hopefully he'll enjoy his footie in Greece, I wish him luck cos he had a good attitude and never complain unlike some people, *cough* Baros :;):

All the best wishes to Igor. He sits on the bench and he plays in CD more than he plays in his best position, but he never complains! Let's hope he can star in Greece!

I always thought he was a better midfielder than a defender, esp under the houllier era, and gave good cover for the likes of stevie when he was injured in the CL last season.

that little run versus leverkusen to put through Garcia on goal at Anfield in the last 16, was worth just as much as the goals in the final.

i knew Rafa would improve him last season.
