Been to long.

Hasnt been that long really, but i agree on wanting to win that as a higher priority.

Too long for us considering we havent had any kind of run in it really since we won it.
We need to take this opportunity (europa) to bring through some of our talented youngsters as in a normal season games where we can start a couple ressies are few and far between, we should take this chance to give the likes of Pacheco, Ayala, eccleston and Darby valuable minutes on the pitch.
I`m not saying start them all at once mind or that would defeat the point, still put out stong sides.
We need to know if these lads are going to be good enough or not and now is as good a time as any.

We won it 3 seasons ago mate, not exactly years ago, but i take your point about us not having a decent run in it since.

europa for me, whilst i would love to win the FA cup i have still got to go with europa cup if we can not win the champ league then lets win the second best and let them all know we are still there and able to win

it would also have to be done against some very strong teams and will not be easy by any means

europa and 4th spot would be the best result i think

The FA cup because of all its heritage, the no-nonsense format and the chance to get to Wembley.

I'd love to see us in another European final though, especially if we could play one of the big guns like Bayern or Juve.

very strong teams ? mmmm... besides Valencia and Roma, who are both struggling in financial and footballing terms, there are no strong sides in the Europa league... the FA cup is the much stronger competition imo with sides like Arsenal, Manutd, Chelsea, and even Tottenham and ManCity being better than most if not all the Europa cup sides...

Both cups have lost it prestige, the F.A Cup because the mancs pulled out of it that year degrading it and the Champions league format has also damaged it not to mention the Europa(Uefa cup) were the second best team in the country(now 5th) use to get in which ment the quality was so much stronger.

If I had to choose though i would pick the F.A Cup, that and 4th place would be a credible season right now.

To win the FA cup you will have to go up against teams like Man u, Chelsea & Arsenal. You won't find that level of competition in Europa, so FA Cup for me.

FA Cup all the way for me and it's a bout time we had a run as we've done anything since the final win against the Hammers in 2006. As for the UEFA Cup (i'm not calling it the europa league!), it hasn't been up to much since we won it in 2000 under Ged, when you think we beat Olympiakos, Roma and Barca on our way to the trophy that year.

First of all, its called the Europa League.

While it might be harder to win the FA cup because of its one and doneness, I think you need to be a more legit team to win the Europa League.  The Fa cup final was pompey vs. cardiff a couple years ago.

There might be a few elite teams in the FA cup, but its not like you play those teams every round. There are a lot of really small clubs in the early rounds, in the Europa league you will face a very decent side in every round, and potentially some very very good sides in the later rounds, and you have to prove you are better over 2 legs

The league for me. Nothing else matters. I said last season when the mancs drew level with our 18. I said pre season after the dissapointing performances, and I said when the league started, winning the league is an absolute must. For me a good season would be the mancs not surpassing our 18. Should that happen, FA Cup or UEFA means sod all. The mancs under that ugly horrible man would achieve what he set out to do and indeed "knock us of our perch". The main thing for me is not having to witness the scum taking over us. Everything else is secondary.

I'd much rather win the FA Cup, although I do think we've got a huge chance of winning the other one. If I'd started this thread, by now I'd have some Nutnut calling me all the c...s under the sun for daring to suggest that we might not actually win both competitions .
