why have Lucas, dossena, N'gog, Elzahar etc, whenyou could have Giovani, Owen, for dirt cheap money or on loan right now.

no trophies 3 sesons whos fault is that?

Let me be a bit impertinent.

That would be perfect for us. But I dont think we haev that much money mate, even after selling players.

why not?

Tevez is around 20 - 25 million

Barry 10 million

Johnson 10 million

Am i wrong?

I think to Utd as they have already paid 8Mil as a down payment he is 22Mil but to any other team its 20 somethign mil plus wages which works out to 30Mil altogether.

Not sure how much Barry will be but reports are between 8 - 12Mil.

Also I read recently that Portsmouth have a price of 16Mil on Glen. Remember he only signed a new contract a few months ago so they are a strong position contract wise. Plus I also read he wants to return to London and is keep to link up with his old manager Harry Redknapp at Spurs.

Dont get me wrong id love all 3 of those here but I think the only one out of them we will realistically get is Barry.

But what do you think about the tevez desire to stay at england despite of the united refusal to sign him?

There is only two teams Liverpool and Chelsea, i don´t see him playing for City.

I think that part is geniune. His family is in Cheshire I think so he is keen to stay. But I also read CL football will NOT influence his decision so if it comes down to £££ I think Man City would probably be favourates to sign him. It's not often you see top players say they dont mind not playing in the CL but go figure. This guy just wants to play full stop week in week out.

The only way I can see him coming to us is if Rafa convinces him to only negotiate with us so Kia is forced to sell for a knock down price to us. Hopefully if we were seriously considering him Masch would somehow be involved in convincing him as he is his mate. But like a few others said recently this Tevez thing could all be a smokescreen for Rafas real targets.

Anyone mentioned purple noses comments after today's game?

He said he is looking forward to next seasons title fight cos beating liverpools total will special.

This coming from a man who a few weeks ago was complaining about Benitez's arrogance. So with these comments he is basically saying the title will be there's next season.

Just a pointer too I read a quote from Ferguson this morning saying these records don't bother him and that they are more for the fans to gloat about and then he totally goes and contradicts himself by saying he looks forward to beating our record cos that will be something special.

I hope he dies before then the horrible t w a t

I think a few of their players mentioned us in their post match interviews. Juts goes to show how much we were on their minds. I just hope come next season we are still up there as their closest challangers.

Me too mate. Also I hope he is not old. Not that Robbie was old but 20Mil was a lot of money for a 28 year old.

  bloody 'ell !

A friendly rivalry no longer exists in this sport anymore does it? For the record I hope he lives a lot longer.

To see his team finally equal our league record, and then to watch as Liverpool rise again to win many a league to put all what he has achieved at united into nothingness, and to spend all his retirement cursing himself each day he wakes up, "so bloody close the scouse <add insult here>"  :D

Let him have his fun bless his little cotton socks. He has yet to surpass us as a club, and until he achieves that, what he has won so far will mean less to him until he does surpass us.

As long as Rafa sticks to what we have achieved lately, and carry that forward, ferguson will live the rest of his life cursing, "So bloody close......"
