Of course the FA Final could be an easy evidence to be a bandwagon to jump into and blow my own trumpet, but I have never ever a bit drifted that Liverpool have now all it requires to be a real contender to be the Champion of EPL next season ever since witnessing how we ended up third in the just folded EPL competition with only nine points adrift from the lead Chelsea.

Nine points that undeservedly equal to millions of pounds that have been brutally spent throughout this season contrasted to the carefully spent money by our side. This evening we have just heroically reached another top of a landmark by beating the biggest challenges in England football in Chelsea and United.

When it comes to a competition that more needs mentality, determination and strategy rather than stamina and quantitative players (as most needed by EPL), we have proven that we are undisputably capable of beating the any stronger team in the world. Cardiff has just become another strengthening evidence after Istanbul that Chelsea was only another strong team that are not impossible to tame.

All we need now to revisit the most precious glory in England’s football of EPL are some more additional decent players to meet the quantitatively sufficient players to cope with the long and exhausting competition in EPL. With our current squad, we have just shown that Chelsea are just nine points away in EPL let alone we also share another domestic cup. And with presumably five additional and three ship-out players I think winning the next season EPL cup is more than just possible to happen.

I reckon we will have a better situation in numbers of players that are much easier to keep happy than Chelsea, which is also a beneficial advantage. Some players I think to be the most likely to leave next season are: Hamann and Moro. As for Cisse, I think it will be depending on which striker that we are able to land since Cisse has now set up a new level of performance that needs to be taken over by his replacement candidate.  .

Chelsea looks now in some level has a less confidence under the reign of Mourinho as the money spent has been starting to see off a bit too far than the expected and fair achievement. They must look further to see a more effective approach instead of wasting too much money on bunch of tricksters and divers. 

Rafa will also have a better knowledge for defo next season in conjunction with more technically understanding amongst players both on and off the pitch.

In Rafa we trust to bring home the EPL cup next season!

can you describe: why "new stadium" would have something to do with 'they will fight stronger'?

While the FA Cup win was tremendous, I can't help feel that talk of a title push may see us go into the season with overexpectations.

We're talking about the likes of Pennant, Benayoun and Malbranque as being good squad players for next season, while Chelsea have players heading for the exit this Summer with far more quality than our muted targets. That kinda makes you wonder about the quality they'll be bringing in. If Ballack and Sheva are the start, God help us all.

We still struggle against tricky teams with pace, and we rely sometimes on over protection from the midfield, as we have done for 6 years or so. Our distribution from the back can also be an issue, but thankfully we have the surgeon in front of the back four to make up for it. In other words, in a game that becomes stretched, particularly on a big pitch like Old Trafford or Cardiff, we can occasionally be found out, and against teams with pace AND quality, ala the big three, we often come unstuck.

It's as much an issue of our stuttering attack as our paceless backline, as much as I hate to say it, to move on, sooner rather than later it will maybe need tweeking. First things first though, we need a proven goalscorer and perhaps a creator and a wide man, yet still Chelsea raise the bar by buying from the toppest tier of the market, while we continue to have to try and be clever on a more modest budget.

We shall wait and see what happens.

Rafa improved our points tally this season more than I or any other fan could have expected this season, especially given we didn't buy a proven goalscorer. That proves we are going in the right direction, given the money spent on United and Chelsea's strike forces.

Rafa is the best thing to happen to this club in years. The thing is though, as said, without the right backing I fear any manager will only be able to take us so far. Will Rafa get slated if we improve again this year but still fall short of Chelsea?? It's a tough time to be challenging for the title, but I think Rafa probably sees it as a challenge to relish.

People want to see us win it, if only for the fairytale of breaking up the monopoly of United and Chelsea with their financial clout.

It really is disheartening when you see Chelsea snap up Ballack and now look to be in with a real chance of getting Shevchenko.  2 players that are undoubtedly in the top 10 in world football.  But as Real Madrid have shown, big names don't necessarily win you titles and I think that with Benitez being the better tactician than Mourinho we don't necessarily have to match Chelsea player for player to beat them to the title.  Benitez did it at Valencia and he can do it again.  All we can do is have a good go at the league next year and see what happens, and should we finish 2nd behind Chelsea then so be it, there's no shame in that if they're bringing in Ballack, Shevchenko and god knows who else to add to a title-winning side.

i agree. and though its great to be all defiantly positive in the light of saturday's entertainment.....winning leagues takes a hell of a lot more than never say die spirit. somewhere along the lines there must be quality in abundance and in enough depth. to sustain a full-on season, not just cup competition.

of course we'd welcome the likes of malbranque,bent,benayoun, pennant, SWP et al....and tbf they would be fantastic additions to the squad.

but until either 2 or 3 absolute diamonds are unearthed in the reserves (of which is a distinct possibility) or the funds are made available, most likely through the sale of the family silver for the really top draw players....we are never going to be mentioned in the same sentence as chelsea, man utd or even dare i suggest, arsenal 

this is why rafa holds the advantage, the names mentioned above have the potential to become great players under the wings of our coaches. those at chelsea and man utd, perhaps less so arsenal, in this respect wenger is at least as efficient in spotting talent.... those 'squad' players are content with their lot, obviously. however imagine being a youth player at chelsea?  you'd have to be pretty hard faced to expect any kind of opportunity to arise, say, never...they preffering instead to paying through the nose rather than let you have your '15 minutes' of glory. and the chance to make any kind of impression...in order to become 'great'

that kind of system of course will prosper, until the coffers run dry..

this is the reason rafa (and to an extent wenger) will hold the trumps...

the taking in of others (still talented) cast offs and turning them into the finest silks, worthy of the grandest stage. that and the ability to not only spot, nurture and develop their own 'big' names...

shevchenko, ballack, tevez, ronaldinho even... they all started out as nobody's. but they'll all sit there feeling untouchable...that will be their downfall and ultimately their clubs ethic. until roman 2 i suppose...

we have to be thankful we have a gaffer with other ideas..and possibilities.

Dont let the "big name" signings worry you. For years people have said that if club a signs player b then they will be unstoppable. Rubbish.

Chelsea signed Guillit when he was a superstar and they won nothing.

Anyways, we have alonso and stevie, both different class. momo is an engine, jamie c is solid, pepe is slightly mad but clas as well and we got gonzales to come and the kid anderson
