The same people claiming we will win the league this week will be the ones calling for Rafa's head when we lose our first game of the season (and we will as sure as eggs is eggs) or blaming rotation.

If I aim somethign I post at someone I usually talk straight and to that person, as such this is aimed at no one, nor is it personal, racist or me using my moderators position to pick on anyone.

Is simply me, Leon McCowan, 30 years old of Liverpool, England pointing out that in my experience of goign the game and being around football supporters, in stadia, pus, work places and the like that football fans on the whole are a fickle lot.

Oh really.

Does this statement here represent the people you meet on the bus, at work, in the toilet or in the stadia ?

Is it too early to think we'll win the prem? - Yes of course it is - we are far to early on at the moment.

HOWEVER!!!! - Have we beaten scum utd and chavski this season? - yes we bloody well have, and we didnt do it by luck - we did really well against both teams and showed what we are worth.

SO whether or not we do win the blasted title is irrelevant, we HAVE vastly improved this season and that is a step in the right direction - that makes me happy as a sam allardice in :censored:.

Only one thing concerns me is the strength of the squad in depth, our first team really is a match for any team in the world however a few unlucky injuries will eventually see us fall i think (i know we havent had our full compliment so far but i can see this being a crucial factor)

So lets see what happens and WALK ON!

I'm not going to get carried away just yet. I've seen too many false dawns in the past, most notably last season and 2002/2003 when we raced out of the blocks the first ten games and then didn't win a game for nearly three months.

However something has changed this season and one would be a fool not to notice it. I believe that the consistency given by not changing the squad too much in the summer has helped (luckily Xabi stayed). The addition of a couple of players who have been able to slot seamlessly straight into the first team - Reira and Keane - has been of great benefit. Previously we seem to have bought great batches of players who weren't quite good enough and played them anyway.

Rafa still roates, but the people who have previously argued about whether we would notice rotation if we were winning seem to have been proved right. In 9 games Rafa has used 22 players. Only 4 have started every Premier League game. Two of them were subbed!

Ironically the Stoke game saw what was probably our strongest side available. So as everybody says - one game at a time.

To repeat a footie cliche, One game at a time.
Even if we were 12 points clear, you still have to keep the head when others loose theres.
Remember Newcastle & Keegan when they were miles clear?, only to be overtaken by the Mancs??

Long way to go, and as I said elsewhere we haven't had enough comfortable wins so physical and mental fatigue could play a part. I've long since stopped saying we'll win the league, because if you do it for 10 or more years and never do then you're just kidding yourself most of the time. Level head, dreading the first defeat or poor run happening as normally happens. I'll be talking of winning the league when we've some breathing space at the top, and that ain't looking too likely even though we've won 7 out of 9. Lose tonight, Chelsea win and we're second on GD
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

It's easy to get carried away with things looking so rosy at the moment and hell I am getting the feeling that it COULD be our year.
A word of caution though, last season we topped the table after tw@tting Derby for six but after that game we went on a run of six draws in seven league games, starting at home to Portsmouth.

Thats not to say the same will happen again. The team is looking a lot more capable than it did 12 months ago.

Irrespective of whether we win the league or not we have improved and are now moving in the right direction. If we can keep being lucky and also playing solidly then I can't see any reason why we can't be serious contenders this season.
As for Rafa's contract I though he still had 1 and a half years left on the current one so what is the rush? If at the end of this season everyone is happy with the job he's done he can be offered a new contract then.

'It's now March and we are hanging onto 4th place'.

If the above happens we will look to stupid if we decide to start getting carried away now. Let alone how stupid we will look to the rest of the Premiership.

I know it has been ages since we won the league but we have won :censored: all so far. Put your dicks back in your pants and just take it one game at a time will you.
