Im new to this discussion board and reading many of the remarks I am dismayed. I have always taken being a Liverpool fan to mean much more than supporters of other teams the true fans with red in thier hearts no what I am talking about we have a tradition, a shared history which is full of as much pain as its success. Im not saying that G.H is the greatest manager of all time but he delivered something important to us, we can walk with our heads held high and when we talk to the scum united fans we can look them in the eye, after all their period is over and they didnt come close to matching our achievements, and why is it that we are dissapointed it is because G.H made us believe again. Did anyone really believe Roy Evans would deliver us the title. Admittadly G.H I believe since we won the all the cups has made some drastic mistakes especially in the transfer market and tactically (I also personally feel he has an unhealthy attitude towards the press and dwells on them too much) and I fear for us if Micky O goes and unless a certain Martin O'Neill fancies the challenge I think perhpes we would be best served with G.H,I mean if he hasnt learned what it takes to deliver the title after the last two seasons nobody will. What I dislike however is the attitude towards the man yeah its been a poor season but unless we also could of gone unbeaten we would still be behind Arsenal. What I cant stand is the tactics of which we have got into such a rut teams come to Anfield to stick 10 men behind the ball but we show no attacking style, flair or intelligence in the last third. Also as much as I hate to admit it I feel it could be players such as Hypia who is holding us back, look at the teams above us they dont sling high balls up to their strikers its quick passing and quick movement something lacking in the middle of our defence the days of the big centre back gbbling up the high balls is long gone and anyway he only looks like a player when he has Henchozs brains alongside him but their both too slow and thus we cannot play higher up the pitch and a more attacking style coz they will turned and done for pace. Diouf is not a winger if he cannot cross a ball whilst Biscan as hard as he tries looks like hes lost.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.
