How sickened is everyone here by the chants of football fans?

As Liverpool Fans we have endured Hysel. True Liverpool fans were not involved in that terrible tragedy, but as a club and a city, we have built bridges with Juventus, and I hope they will endure.
We have endured Hillsborough, endured The Sun wrongfully accusing Liverpool Fans so that as a City, The Sun has not prospered here.

What place is there in our hearts for such vitriol, so that we as fans, not all of us I admit, taunt Man Utd, and any other of our rivals who have fallen on misfortune? Or have had disasters equivalent to Hysel and Hillsborough happen to them as a club?
I am ashamed of fans who do that. I wish that as one voice, the Kop drown out the chants of fans who disgrace the good character of LFC.

.. from the booing of national anthems to the disgraceful taunts you describe and other abuse such as racial.. all unacceptable..  its up to us all. especially if we go to matches to make become a lounder voice en mass.. and drown out the boo boys..

totally agree. Watching the Spain/England game the other night with all the monkey chants going on made me think we'd gone back to the 1980's. Next they'll be taking their inflatable bananas to the matches again!

Gotta agree, I aint no England fan, never will be, but that was outrageous the other night. Remember the days of Barnesy gettin that stick.....he did the right thing and shut 'em up with skill....can't say I hope the England team do the same, but I do feel its the best way a player can silence the ****** with the taunts.

Supporters should get behind there own team & not subject opposing fans to sick taunts. Bye the way its a long time since I have visited Anfield for a various of reasons, but do the Kop still give a traditional great reception to the opposition goalie like they did many years ago.

murphy has a point.
the sad fact is that sometmies in the passion of the game we would chant to the other teams, and they would chant back, mostly it is good hearted banter, orat worst it was the shipman thing or slagging off posh spice (who i dont like, but soe of that stuff was sick.

But the monkey chanting is just dumb, doesnt make any sense, it acheives nothing, isnt funny and isnt clever.

Its not a minority tho (the rqacism is, thank god, but the sick chanting isnt)
everyone does it, and im not asying its right, but tis not like 1 in a hundred im sorry to say
