Thor, I'll think you'll find that the Great Shanks's oft used quote probably sums it up for just about everyone.........

"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

When Shanks said that often quoted line (see Above) it was I suspect tongue in cheek and post Hillsborough I think we all know its not more important than life or death. That said, LFC have the ability to turn a perfectly good day into a  mserable one and vica versa. As for Passion how do you measure it ? Peoples outward expresions don't always  portray whats going on inside, I can persoanlly say i have cried 3 times at a Soccer game , 1977 (Beat by Mancs in Fa Cup Final) 2002 (Beat by Mancs at Anfield and driving home after Hillsborough. So lets remember those 96 who never came home before we flippantly trot out one of Shanks's lines.................Walk on

Dalglish, I think Shanks was referring to himself when he made this comment, he would never put football above anyone else's life.  In then end he did'nt even put it above his own identity which he was fiercely proud of.  I'm sure that red-si was not trying to be flippant he was merely referring to how much he loves the club.

Fair enough big Al, I wasn't trying to diss the lad for his post. I simply was tryng to give my take on passion. Its hard to define really, I certainly don't think its how loud and aggressive you get at matches that really matters, when you see some mens reactions at games its at best funny and at worst scary! !!!!! I often think they might just be compensating for other areas of their lives that they are not happy about and see football as a way of venting their frustrations , ahhhh well thats my psychological report over ! LOL
As for me i don't really care whether other people think i'm passionate or not to be honest, LFC are an importnat part of my life yes but with a  beautiful wife and a baby on the way its not the most importnat thing to me . Walk on ....

Stu, ever thought about a "Fever Pitch" style book?  If it's getting to you that much, get it all down on paper, from what I've read so far, you'd have half-a-book already!!!!!!

:D  :D

I have seen some palace fans before - they were pretty much resigned to their fate - it was just after we beat them 6:1 on the first day of the season :D
yes you are right, liverpool fans have every right to feel very angry, one thing I will say is: "who is liverpool playing next ? Ah Wolves" Nuff said, they can't do that one again :D
