Houllier's last game?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If Liverpool play poorly tonight against Portsmouth and fail to win then i full expect Houllier to resign.

After sitting through another depressing Liverpool performance at Southampton last week i came away with a real belief that Houllier was going to resign, All through that evening i kept checking Sky Sports news expecting to see the story, but as we all know it didn't happen. The decision can't be far away now as it is becoming obivious(sp) to even Houllier that the 4th spot in the table is out of reach.

Win lose or draw i feel that it would be the correct thing for Houllier to do, so that a new manager has plenty of time to settle in before next season.

I don't think he'll go mate.  He wouldn't resign even if we got relegated and the board haven't got the balls to sack him.

The 4th spot isn't out of reach, but the gap between 3rd and 4th is now phenominal. I'm sick of LFC performing like a second rate team competing for 4th not 1st

The only hope we have is the board firing him, but they didn't even fire Souness or Evans!

I'm afraid we are stuck with Houllier in the neat future Badmao1 .
Houllier is too stubborn and wrapped up in his own importance to resign - even if we lost the next 2 games.
As for the board sacking him  ! - impossible as they have said they will review at the end of the season. Unfortunately Moores and Parry don't know the difference between spin and reality.

The way he's come accross in interviews suggests a man on the edge, a man with no confidence or ability to change his current situation. However stubbon and strong willed he is i believe if results go against him tonight and maybe the next game he will resign for the good of the club and his own health.

I have nothing against him and i feel he should be remembered as a good Liverpool manager who took the club as far as he could.

He won't resign if we're beat.   I expect a 1-0 win or a draw. I hope we'll win but with Houllier its all a lottery.  If we do get beat we'll need to lose just one more game and GH will be packing his bags.
