Rick Parry set to leave Liverpool Football Club
Feb 27 2009 World Exclusive By Tony Barrett

Rick Parry Image 2

RICK Parry is set to leave Liverpool Football Club.

The ECHO understands Parry’s departure by mutual consent will be officially announced by Liverpool later today.

The long serving chief executive will not leave with immediate effect though with all parties in agreement that he will remain in position until the end of the current season.

Speculation will inevitably surface suggesting Parry has lost a power struggle with Reds boss Rafa Benitez but the ECHO understands the real reason for his power is an acknowledgement that his relationship with Tom Hicks is unworkable.

As yet, there are no indications about who will replace Parry when his time at the club comes to an end.

probably one of rafas demands before he signs a new contract.

good that parry will go, but its bad news if rafa gets to dictate who the club can and cant employ, lets hope I am wrong and this and rafa still goes

It's been a long time coming and at least now that means one of the guys in this ridiculous power struggle is out of the picture. I can't believe he has stayed on this long. Fairlplay to him for standing up to the yank :censored:..ts (along with Moores) when they tried to stick the entire debt onto the club last season but aside from that he really should have walked a long time ago. I'm guessing Gillette had a lot to do with him staying.

does anyone actually think this will make one ounce of difference to our football? for our football to change rafa needs to go. we will still struggle to beat teams like fulham and wigan, we will still buy a mulitude of players who are not fit to wear the shirt, we will still have a manager who manages commodities rather than people.

sorry folks we are a football club, this will not change the football side of things

there is bad in this news.
Hicks has just got more power over the club, he can now put in place his own 2nd, as i have said in the other thread, it looks like Hicks is going to be hear at the club for a very long time, we might hate Parry but he has blocked some of the things Hicks was trying to do with money from the club.

yer like Alves, Simao, SWP, Vidic, Moluda (lucky escape), barry wouldnt have improved our team.

All Parrys fault that we didnt sign these players.

G&H had a bit of a shock when Rafa let the leak out that he might walk, this was to push the owners had, they then let it leak that thay could replace him very fast, Rafa then say he will like to stay at the club, this a very good game of chess, shame the chess board in our club.
