latest on hobbs-

Lincoln youngster Jack Hobbs is hoping to seal his dream move to Liverpool this week following a recent trial.

The 16 year-old defender has spent two weeks on trial with the European Champions and expects to hear this week if he has impressed enough to be offered a contract.

Speaking today Hobbs said, "I feel it's gone quite well and my agent is speaking to Liverpool's chief executive Rick Parry this week about where things go from here."

Jack Hobbs is from a village called Moulton near Spalding in Lincolnshire (where I'm from), he is best friends with my nephew. His mother works with my sister in law & the two families often go on hols together. He is a sound lad & he will settle in very well at Liverepool, also he speaks Spanish which will help.

Seeing as though that is the main language now I think it's essential, could you imagin Carra speaking spanish? I'd love to have heard his first conversation with Nando  :D

It looks like Hobbs will sign in the next couple of days.  He's impressed in his trial.  He's been playing in midfield although Lincoln viewed him as a central defender.  He hasn't played for Lincoln yet so he's very much one for the future.  I hope it works out well for him.

The signing of Lincoln City defender Jack Hobbs will go through on the player's 17th birthday (18th August), if you believe reports in the national media.

It is claimed that Hobbs will remain at City on 'work experience' until signing his Liverpool contract next month when he turns 17.

We can't confirm whether or not those claims are true but we do know that a deal has been struck and it's now a case of 'when' it will happen rather than 'if' it will happen.
