I'm not sure I agree with that.

I think Hicks has shown a level of ruthlessness which I kinda like.

If they get the finances for the stadium and new players in place, I don't mind them being cut-throat with anyone they think isn't taking the club forward in terms of results.

The "dictator" model is the best one for football.

It's not 'ruthlessness' though, it's unprofessional, naive and disrespectful conduct. You don't directly approach another manager with an 'insurance' type of deal, when the incumbent is trying to build his own team. If you can't COMMUNICATE with your manager, DO NOT PURCHASE A FOOTBALL CLUB. To then make these facts known publicly, with the club and Rafa being hounded by the press as it is, is just ridiculous.

There is no defence.

You do realise right that ad hominem attacks are a clear sign that someone has absolutely no credible arguments, right?

honestly you should read some of the rubbish that you write.... its actually pathetic.....and patronising....go get a life! im sure u need a finer stage than a football forum to prove your no doubted genius.......

You're quite correct. I think I'll join the MENSA forums and offer my opinion regarding Rafa, Hicks and Gillett....then again I suppose I could just post those opinions on a Liverpool FC forum, where it belongs.

and if you read any of my posts did i say or advocate burning any flag?

The forum mod already asked for that discussion to end.

Which I have complied with.

It's a dead issue.

no i didnt, so get your facts right sunshine, I dont like the 2 americans and i dont the way they are running Liverpool Football club,

In that case, stop wasting your time making a fool of yourself by trying to insult me, and actually post something relevant to the thread.

nor do I like some of the things that have been done by the United States under the name of freedom.

The policies of the United States are irrelevant to this discussion and forum.

so get your facts straight and dont be so patronising.
as for a political debate....I wouldnt advice you to go down that route if i were u.......

Oh I tremble with fear.

wow!!! there is a surprise! another arrogant and patronising post from you....wow i bow to your incredible powers of intelligence...Im sure your mother is very proud of u, but have u any friends?

I like Manhatten, he's a good guy and so are most Americans I have ever met in my life so stop talking sh1t, and don't attack America just becuase of Hicks and Gillet, that is stupid and moronic.
Hicks and Gillet are :censored: but you find their sort in every country in the world not just America.

I find myself in a slightly weird situation because I still want Rafa out, here comes that popularity award again :p, but I actually want these incompetent d1ckhead owners out more. To come out and admit to having talks with Klinsman is incredible and I can only assume that this is leading up to them selling as they can't possibly continue now.

fair play to you! thank you for sharing your valued opinions with me and for enriching my life with your opinions now f uc k off!

Business is war. I think this club's biggest problem has been a lack of balls when it comes to making deals. While Man Utd were getting into the business world in a big way, I'm not sure what the fook we were doing.

But surely if it was to do with the financial pressure of the CL, once we were out of it the pressure should be on getting back into it next season. ie no point crying over spilt milk, even Mourinho couldnt get us back into it this season if we had failed to qualify. So it should have been about can Rafa get us back in. Our league position and points at the time would suggest that he could.

Rafa has a record second to none in the CL. So if it was about that surely they had the best man anyway.

Well that's why they said Klinsmann was "insurance". Hicks was just preparing in case the worst happened. But like he said, it worked itself out. Maybe Rafa did know about it and thought "hey, if we don't kill Marseilles and Besiktas, I'm going to get sacked" and bang....we destroyed the other teams.

Fear is a good motivator.

Yet strangely teams that play with fear usually lose. Its usually when a team has nothing to lose that they play at their best.

Anyway I think we will have to agree to disagree mate.

They shouldn't have purchased the club if they can't communicate effectively with the manager. They certainly shouldn't be making approaches to other managers behind Rafa's back on the basis that they believed he might walk. They absolutely 100% shouldn't have made the talks with Klinnsmann known publicly, at this time, or at any time in the foreseeable future.

This has absolutely nothing to do with having a lack of balls when it comes to making deals, or the Mancs for that matter.

A somewhat paradoxical post if I may say so myself.  :upside:

I don't know. Luton played in fear for their existence the other day and almost beat us.

LFC played knowing that defeat was the end in the CL and killed everyone.

Hicks should sit in the stands with a pistol when Vororin plays. It might motivate him.

I agree with not revealing anything. It wasn't really necessary. But I like the idea of them saying "we want results, and you have to deliver, otherwise, you're history".

This has absolutely nothing to do with having a lack of balls when it comes to making deals, or the Mancs for that matter.

It does, because we've been a little too easy-going for my liking. Especially that guy Parry who people are ALWAYS complaining about as moving too slowly to make deals.

I think you're not really touching on the issues in question tbh, but anyhow, I'll reluctantly agree to disagree on the basis that you are Manhattan.

I'm trying to explain that American businessmen have to be tough.

Take JR Ewing for example.

He was tough. He was ruthless. He was devious.

What happened to him?

OK, he got shot....but aside from that, he was very successful.

How did Klinsmann get the Bayern Munich job?

I thought that Otto Octavius was already their manager?
