Mourinho clear favourite for Liverpool job @ Monday 14 January, 15:15 GMT
Paddy Power make Jose Mourinho their 9-4 favourite to succeed Rafa Benitez at Liverpool following the revelation on Monday that Tom Hicks and George Gillett, the club’s co-owners, held talks with Jurgen Klinsmann about becoming the next manager at Anfield.
Hicks told the Liverpool Echo that talks with the German legend were merely "an insurance" policy in case Benitez had left Liverpool for another job, but the news casts fresh doubts over Rafa's position.
Former Chelsea boss Mourinho is the clear favourite, with Gus Hiddink, Marcelo Lippi and Phil Scolari all currently joint favourites at 9-1.
Paddy Power will give you 8-13 on a new manager being in charge at Anfield for the 2008/09 campaign.
You can also get 1-2 on Benitez seeing out the current Premier League, and 6-4 on him being gone before the season is out.
Selected odds:
Mourinho 9-4
Gus Hiddink 9-1
Marcelo Lippi 9-1
Phil Scolari 9-1
Frank Rijkaard 12-1
Martin O’Neill 16-1
Mark Hughes 22-1
Sam Allardyce 28-1
Mark fu.ckin Hughes and
Sam Kunthorse Allardyce
