'When it appeared we were in danger of not advancing in the Champions League, we were not playing well in the Premier League and there were communications issues between Rafa and ourselves over the January window, George and I met Jurgen Klinsmann to learn as much as we could about English and European football,' he said.

'He is a very impressive man. We attempted to negotiate an option with him as an insurance policy, to have him become our manager in the event of Rafa leaving for Real Madrid or any other of the clubs rumoured in the UK press, or in case our communication problems spiralled out of control, for some reason. We never reached an agreement on an option, and we are pleased for him that he has an opportunity to return to Germany and coach a great club team.

'After George and I had a long and productive meeting with Rafa, following the United match, we put all our issues behind us and received a commitment from Rafa that he wanted to stay. Rafa has the support of both of us, and our communication has greatly improved.'

BTW I agree wholeheartedly with Ciggy. Hicks should f.off

The bold bit is all about covering your tracks that though, not pointing it out as the reason for it.

Its all al ie, the first bit he talks about ( I have highlighted below) is also not the reason. As we where top of the league when the talks happened.

'When it appeared we were in danger of not advancing in the Champions League, we were not playing well in the Premier League

and you know this for a fact?

so when someone else points out a comment you make excuses for it, yet you choose to highlight comments and they are suddenly facts.

now the nitty gritty, it wasnt at the same time, the klinsman story was about a week later, it broke then, or maybe you knew before them and there is something you are not telling us.

so lets call this quits, you have your belief and i have mine, we are both showing things and it seems neither of us can say 100% its fact, although you seem to this your conjecture is fact and my conjecture is rumour

Its a discussion forum, so we discuss.

I dont want to stop you thinking what you think, but I will challenge it.

Dont take offence from that.

The personal stuff - thats what you should take offence from, and rightly so. Thats out of order, and I apologise to everyone other than you on this forum that the debate descended into that kind of slanging match.

can you point out where i made a personal comment about you that warranted your outburst because for the life of me i can not find it?

Look, I think your a bellend, you think I am a knob head - lets leave that to one side and stop the forum getting bogged down in tittle tattle.

no leon lets not leave it at that, your comments were bang out of order, you dragged personal issues into this, you dragged families into this, i am not lowering myself to do the same however i am sure if i wrote what you just wrote about your wife and about your last job etc i would be banned again.

your comments about me were out of order and yet you apolgise to everyone else on the forum apart from the one they were about.

call yourself a moderator when you are looking at starting flame wars, and make no mistake leon i made NO comment that deserved that from you

added to the fact you sent me a pm telling me you will remove your post if i remove mine (but i still don't know which post I am supposed to have been offensive in), this shows you know it was out of order leon, but i called your bluff and quoted it because I am tired of your pettiness and your abuse while hiding behind your mod status

Look Mr Matyr - I PM'd you and asked you to delete the offending post, and I would do the same.

you chose not to.

Its your funeral.

I will leave this post here, however any more please use PM.

Once again apologies to all memebers that my love a ffair with peewee threatens to ruin a debate. This will be the last post on the matte.

In fact, I know peewee will want the last word, so fill yer boots. One last post on this in here mate, then the rest will be delted. Fair Enuff?

That :censored: is on skysports news taking us round his ranch!
It looks like Hicks is determined to stay and succeed and is trying a charm offensive through the media. No doubt he has reacted to the Rafa protests and sees promises about contract extensions as a way of courting favour with the fans.
I've heard rumours that the arabs will be back in June with a massive bid.

leon, i know why you have said they will all be deleted to try and cover your tracks and hide the fact that your comments were bang out of order, but the fact is I am still waiting for you to point out my offensive post that you asked me to delete, i am surprised I can not find it considering it must be so horrific to warrant your abuse.
i hardly think selling mobile phones, bingo calling or flipping burgers makes you an authority on business and how business works,
Being derogatory about his career choice again might have done it.

Anyway on topic, however much truth there may be in Hicks' comments, IMO its just an attempt to divide and rule. More rhetoric, does he think we have forgotten his bold statements from last year, which have proven to be bull?

The sad thing about this mess is to a degree Hicks is right rafa cant trust parry he has been party to getting rafa out it seems to be true. Rafa has to work with parry to get the transfers done and there could be a massive breakdown in trust now it looks like rafas been stitched up. dont be surprised if rafa quits if parry dont go you can see rafa going. thats one thing hicks is right about parry has to go.

If PArry does go then Hicks has a chance to push things through on a boardroom level - this can not be allowed to happen.

Rafa will have to put up with Parry a little while longer.

both owners are playing a dangerous game and rafa and parry are both the pawns. it looks like something is going to snap pretty soon. you couldn't blame rafa if he jacked.  in all honesty it should be parry hicks and gillett :censored: off.

No matter what happens to Rafa, Parry has to go right now. His position is untenable, yes he may be the one stopping Hicks from bulldozing his way at boardroom level but for his role in the Klinsgate scandal, and incompetence as the CEO, he should go.
