Hicks on sky sports. - Claims he is buying the club outright!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

at the end of the day the club must be sold. The Americans must go, no if's no but's.
Hicks has found a way to get some fans on his side by saying he backs Rafa, dont be a fool, as soon as he has all the power Rafa will be gone.

i do admire hicks ability to smooth talk and convince people day is night, but what liverpool need is money. he would make a great chief executive conning all the best players in the world to play for us instead of real madrid.

my ideal scenario is  DIC running the show with hicks doing all the smooth talking in a minor role.
the idea of hicks running the whole things leaves me feeling very ill.this is a guy who has fallen out with the manager in the past, the fans, his partner and has sent a big potential investor in DIC away with no other optiions for future dealings. this guy is bad news when it comes to power,he is the footballing version of robert mugabe...a complete dick-tator

I think its the other way round at the moment Lakes. If you like Hicks you need to keep Rafa. Hicks is trying to use Rafa's popularity to gain favour. Whether there is any real close bond between the two I am not sure. I think Rafa should stay in a neutral corner until the big hitters have slugged it out and we have a winner.

Parry as Leon says should stay until Hicks has gone, as Hicks would have control of the boardroom if Parry left now.

"Hicks would have control of the boardroom if Parry left now"

that fills me with fear.

Then again, he's got to deliver too. Those guys have placed debt on the club after promising they wouldn't, and they still haven't started work on the new stadium (assuming the paperwork and planning stuff is cleared).

The fact that Arsebone have a 60K seater and Manure have a 76K seater costs us with our 44K seater with every single game we play.

What difference does it make how successful we are commercially whilst hicks is in control. Do you seriously think that if we suddenly make an extra £500 million from marketing the club better that it would be spent on players ect? no it would be filtered out into hicks pocket that's why he is p!ssed not for the club but for himself.
He now talks about things that would be in Liverpool's best interests, well he did not think about that when he LIED to us all and put £300 million in dept on the club, or when he stopped the manager buying or selling players (even on a bosman) until it was convenient for him to come over. Meanwhile he was off talking to klinsman behind rafas back, hicks has one interest here MONEY nothing else he has LIED, LIED ,and LIED again. Remember him denying that he was having talks with DIC, only to later admit it himself. To me it makes no difference now whatever he says now Its all completely irrelevant as the man is a proven liar.

Yes, but he has only used the problems that the fans have with PArry, and theat the fans have voiced for the last five years to aid his own cause - thats the point.

He has tried to portray himself as a man of the people.

He dont care about Rafa, he dont care about fans.

iv'e been saying for years that parry is a problem, but i'm not going to be conned into choosing hicks or parry.i'm feeling very greedy i want them both gone.

this is not the liverpool way of doing things, but the liverpool way has meant an easy ride for people like parry.lets sweep it all under the carpet because it not the liverpool way.the only thing that puzzles me is why hicks would be so happy and open to let the world know that liverpool comercially is very small compared to others.surely this is not good for attracting future sponsors, which is what he claims to want.
could he be revealing all this to scare off DIC .on one hand he is saying liverpool is worth a billion pounds then he is saying comercially we are way behind the others.

he claims he wants to take full charge with a whole host of minor investors.whats to stop liverpools rivals from becoming part of the board and sabotaging things, and we end up like leeds.
how do we know that hicks is not a plant.its not like he has used his own money to own liverpool.

Also, if this doesn't sort itself out VERY quickly then Rafa will have zero transfer funds to play with in the summer anyhow (I still don't get where he got the Skrtel authorisation from) and if that's the case, he's impatient and likely to walk anyhow. Even Real Madrid would seem an easy place to manage at the moment compared to this. :veryangry

spot on , forget whether parry is good at his job or not for the mo as that's not why hicks wants shut, no its because for once parry is doing the right thing for the club in stopping hicks putting even more dept and interest payments onto the club. That's the real reason hicks is p!ssed because he doesn't have the numbers to control the boardroom, god help us if he ever does. Hicks maybe a lying snake but a very clever lying snake, he is using the fans dislike of parry to suit his own ends. For me its the lesser of 2 evils here and parry must stay in order to save our club from hicks.

listen rafa owe those fans who got behind him when his job was on the line...i was not one of them.
so for him to do a runner when we are in trouble would make him worst than hicks.
