Remember when we played palace in the cup and Morrison said he was as good as Owen and he'd have bagged a hat-trick given Owen's chances? If I remember rightly we screwed them 5-0 in the second leg with a certain Mr Morrison missing an abolute f##king sitter right in front of the Kop! Happy days....!

Puddy, fair enough there's more of your own boys in your side now but I still think we'd beat ya, even though your form against Brazil etc suggests otherwise...

It'd be  game I'm sure we'd all love to see happen at some point

brazil were virtually playing at half pace in that match. just wait till we thump switzerland in the summer. they beat ireland home and away in qualifying. it would be a decent game but we'd still beat them.

I'm from Northern Ireland so actually I know very little about football!
I have to say that when it comes to sport I don't get caught up in the nationality cr#p, good sportsmen and women are good sports people. Simple!
I actually enjoy watching England and I love to see them win and do well. The same for Scotland, Wales, Ireland and N. Ireland.  These islands have jointly produced some of the best sports stars in the world.  Many of these people have no arogance or hype or are as full of themselves as so many other countries are.  Don't get me wrong when we all play each other then thats a different game.  but what is it with Scots and Irish and some welsh when England come to play Spain or Portugal or Brasil.  Yeah some English media get carried away with themselves and start talking about 1966, but the players ie the sports men deserve some sort of loyality.  Michael Owen Does not become less of a player when he pulls the england shirt on.  As for Heskey,  I think he's niot playing well because he dosent get the chance to go out and out forward with Houllier.  Ericson is one of the best managers in the world, he picks him because he see's something.  Houllier has many LFC fans believing Biscan is a good player and Emile Heskey is s##t.  Against Germany years ago the liverpool trio of Heskey, Owen and Gerrard give them the biggest tanking they'd had in years.  I personally loved watching every single minute.  So in my book For Euro 2004 come on England, come on Heskey, Gerrard and Owen.

I'd say that of the current Irish and English teams....

Shay Given is better than David James.

Steve Finnan and Steve Carr are better than Gary Neville.

Roy Keane would definitely be an England regular if he came out of international retirement.

Damien Duff would easily get in the England side given Erickson's problems with left midfield.

Robbie Keane might make the bench, and he's certainly better than Vassell, Heskey, Beattie etc.

The arguement against Englishman playing for Ireland falls apart when you consider the amount of guys who came either directly from the West Indies or Africa (John Barnes was born in Jamica) or those 2nd generation Carribean guys that play for England (i.e. half the current squad).

Its pointless arguement....although I don't like those mercenary Brazilians who play for the likes of Japan and Quatar.

Nice point Big Al. I'll tell you what's with the Scots/Welsh/Irish - simple, I-NF-E-R-I-O-R-I-T-Y   C-O-M-P-L-E-X

England don't give a s##t who the Scots etc are playing, we find more satisfaction supporting our own side, rather than whatever everyone else is up to

I'll always support Wales, Scotland & NI against any foreign team.

Same here mate. But I draw the line at scotland. I can't support them after they bought Argie shirts during 2002 and treating Ronaldinho as a god after knocking us out.
