Spot on.

The discretion lies with the ref not the FA.  Webb decided to issue straight reds instead of yellows and a word.  He then agreed to review the video yet still deemed it violent conduct for both players.  You may disagree with his decision but I think asking the FA to turn around and change the automatic 3-match ban is out of order.  The rule's been in place all season so to change it now to accommodate the cup final dreams of two players would be folly.

Harsh though it may be, the lads have to take their punishment and will undoubtedly have learned a lesson from it.

Having said that, we can win it without Luis...yes, he's scored some important goals for us and is a man for the big occasion but surely we're not a one-man team!  :D

The look on his face when he saw the red card sums it up as well. He must have known that a bit of stupidity has cost him a place in the final.  If anything its a lesson and a warning to those two plus other players.

That has got to be bizarre quote of the year that one.

A few questions:

1) Where does Taff mention two yellows ?

2) What difference does it make in the FA Cup final anyway ?

3) Whats going to happen if he gets booked in the final at Cardiff, will he miss the charity sheild ?

:D

"If anything its a lesson and a warning to those two plus other players"

Had he have reacted like a man to Mullins face-push and pushed him back, some handbags would have ensued and neither player would have been sent off.
It won't make me popular on here but we can't have it both ways. Blatant play-acting with the ultimate aim of getting an opponent sent-off is wrong. Garcia was wrong, simple as that.

I agree mate. I was disappointed to see Garcia hit the deck in a Robben-esque display, as he is such a great player he shouldn't need to cheat. Maybe it was fitting that his diving probably helped make the refs mind up to send them both off, but ultimately I'm saddened that the 2 teams in the FA Cup final are unable to field their strongest teams.

The FA were never going to overturn the decision, otherwise people would be looking to move suspensions around to suit all the time. As good as Garcia is, I think we will miss Mullins more, as he is the bedrock of our midfield who allows everyone else to go forward.

I can only assume that it is written in the stars that his replacement in the final - which is likely to be Carl Fletcher - will score the winner   :D

For the record, my feelings on it are:

1) Deserved a red card both of them

2) Should never have over turned the cards under any circumstances

3) Garcia was pushed in the face, and had every right to go down holding his face

4) I think that labelling Luis in the same bracket as other divers is daft.

I agree with Tommy, Mullins is one of their key players, West Ham will miss him more than we will miss Garcia :nod
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

so are you suggesting that Robben had every right to go down when he was pushes in the face by Reina.

this one i dont agree with mate, i just dont understand why any man would want to hit the deck from a simple push

I like Garcia but.
To see him playacting on the floor just like chelskis Roubbin got my back up big time.
It was Garcia tangling with the hammers lads arm and it was Garcia that elbowed him in the back.
The lad pushed him he did not thump him in the face like he wanted us to believe.
And he went down like a sack of :censored:.
I can’t stand that kind of cheating in any game of football and to see it in our team after all the slagging we give chelski scum as Liverpool supporters we should find a way of letting him know we don’t like it and don’t want it.
so if you are just having a quick look Garcia leve the god dam cheating to chelski ok.
