At the end of the day in this situation Ferguson is the loser no matter what happens.

He is just being petulent, not playing us.

Still don't want Heinze. Simple as that.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I doubt they can block his move in all seriousness, not that i know all the in's and out's of this sorta thing but i rekon he'll be with us before the end of the transfer window.

As for Fergie, he's just an absolute to$$ rag!!

I'm not say keep faith in Riise, I just don't want Heinze. 2 reasons why because I'm not a fan of him anyway and secondly because I don't want united players playing for Liverpool. So in terms of who I'd like at left back, I've been a fan of Matty Taylor for a couple of years now but being a fella who likes youngsters to be given a go, I think Threlfall looks like he has a bright future ahead of him--give him a go.

Well having read god-bless-John-houlding's contributions i feel obligated to just suggest that despite the once a manure player never a livepool one, and the so called guys who can fill the left back spot, Heinze is that type of player we have been lacking at the left back, with him in the side there is defensive balance which i know scares the hell out of even Alex Ferguson

BBC Sports - Fergie Cool Over Heinze row
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says defender Gabriel Heinze remains a popular figure at the club, despite wanting to leave for Liverpool.
The 29-year-old Argentine claims he has a letter from United allowing him to leave for £6.8m but the club say he will not be sold to a close rival.

Heinze is taking the issue to a Premier League arbitration panel on 20 August.

"Gabriel Heinze has not become an alien within the squad," said Ferguson. "He is a very popular player."

Interview: Liverpool chief exec Rick Parry

And Ferguson is confident there will be no problems if Heinze does remain at Old Trafford.

"Obviously, the meeting on 20 August will settle it one way or another," added Ferguson.

"We think we have a good case. They probably think they have a good case too or they wouldn't have gone this far.

"But once it is settled, if he is still a Manchester United player, he will be treated accordingly. He is a warrior and a fighter. He won't let us down."

He'll be off, and to be honest, I would rather he went to Madrid if anywhere

Heinze has two years still remaining on his United contract.

Despite the row over his future he has vowed to "carry on like a professional" and is continuing pre-season training with the Red Devils.

And he met manager Ferguson at United's Carrington training ground last week to discuss his future, having confirmed he has brought in lawyers to try to force through a move to Anfield.

Previously, United chief executive David Gill stated he felt the club was in the right.

"He is a contracted player for two years and unless we receive an offer that is acceptable to us as a club, he will remain with us," he said.

I think that if we could take away the agent's role in this I don't think an awful lot is wrong with Gabi's position at the club

Sir Alex Ferguson

Gill added that prior to Liverpool revealing their interest, he verbally informed Heinze's agent that United would not be prepared to sell him to any of their three major domestic rivals.

That conversation is thought to have been recorded and, if so, could feasibly be used as evidence if the matter ended up in court.

Ferguson believes Heinze's representatives have unsettled the defender.

"I think that if we could take away the agent's role in this I don't think an awful lot is wrong with Gabi's position at the club," said Ferguson.

"We've looked after Gabi very well. He had his cruciate knee operation and we looked after him.

"We let him do his rehabilitation in Spain, which he wanted, and I think he's delighted at how we've treated him. We've conducted ourselves in a way that suited Gabi perfectly."

But Heinze, who signed from Paris St Germain in 2004, is thought to be keen to leave and the large Spanish-speaking contingent at Anfield may be an attraction.

If he did end up at Liverpool, Heinze would become the first player to go directly from Old Trafford to Anfield since Phil Chisnall in 1964.

Meanwhile, Ferguson has said that he wished he had signed Argentine Carlos Tevez 12 months ago.

"In his year at West Ham, Tevez proved himself to be an absolutely top player," commented Ferguson, who finally landed the striker this week.

"Every time I saw him playing for West Ham last year, I thought to myself, I just wish we had done it last year.

"But there were too many complications at the time."

When I first heard of Rafa Benitez's interest in Gabby Heinze I genuinely had mixed views. Firstly I thought he was a great player 2 seasons ago when he first went to Old Trafford and I was quite envious that Fergie had picked up such a ferious warrior for such a paltry sum. Correct me if I am wrong but I'm sure he was United's Player of the Year that season and there were even calls for him to be vice captain.

He can defend first and foremost and he does it very very well. He's no frills, in your face and very good at what he does. However some seem to be suggesting his injuries have affected him and people doubt whether he will be the same player of 2004/05. Others point to the fact that he fell out with Fergie, and the emergence of Patrice "I look like a girl" Evra for the only reasons he aint lining up with the rest of them inbreds in front of 78,000 day trippers week in week out.

Some point to the fact he's a Manc and fair do's that would be good enough for me any other position on the field but I feel with Riise's confidence being in bits, and Arbeloa not really being a LB, if he wants to come, and Rafa rates the guy, we have got to give it a go.

Imagine he can reclaim his old form, Finnan, Carra, Agger and Heinze is a defence that most teams in the Premiership will look at with a sense of fear and respect.

From Sky Sports:

Gabriel Heinze has hit out at Manchester United for blocking his move to Liverpool.

The Argentine defender is fighting to secure an exit away from Old Trafford and win a move to United's bitter rivals Liverpool.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is adamant that Heinze will not be allowed to join Liverpool and he insists the player is still part of his plans at Old Trafford despite the dispute.

Heinze and Liverpool's lawyers are currently looking into a letter Manchester United gave to Heinze's agent stating the defender could leave for a certain fee.

The dispute is set to go to a Premier League hearing on 20th August to decide Heinze's future and the South American has called on United to let him move on.

"I want a quick solution. My lawyers have told me a meeting with the Premier League is possible to advance the matter next week," Heinze told The People.

"The club had guaranteed my transfer if a good offer came in and nobody specified anything about the club whether it be a foreign team or Liverpool.

"I am a total professional and I have always behaved as such. Now I just ask that they respect me and accept what I was promised."

Heinze claims United's stance is damaging his career and he wants them to respect his wishes to leave.

"It is incomprehensible and, that aside, they are affecting me as a professional not being able to go to another club," added Heinze.

"I have respected Ferguson since I arrived at Manchester. I don't want any conflict with United and neither do I have anything against the fans. They have always treated me perfectly and I have given everything for the club."
