It's been a long LONG season for us.  But is it better or worse than last year?

How can it be worse? I know that we won the CL last season, but there is no way in hell that this year can be worser than a 5th place finish in the league.

I refuse to vote as I cannot pick between them.

In the league, we have pulled last season's pants down and spanked it good and proper.

In Europe, we wimpered out like a dog with a tanned ar*e. (Purely due to the timing of the Benfica ties.)

The FA Cup - it's obvious.

I would have to say that winning the CL was something I didn't think we'd do again before we fecking did it. It is THE big one, and is the benchmark for all great teams.

The FA Cup isn't as prestigous, but is still an important trophy.

WIth the FA Cup AND the improvement in the league, it's a tie for me.

The Champions League victory was truely the stuff of dreams.

Im not really sure, last season we won the CL which was an amazing season, this season we've improved in the league and got 3rd place and won the FA cup. Whilst this season has been fantastic, i dont know if i see this season as better, FA cup and 2 place improvement in the league doesnt beat the CL win for me, I'd probably say a tie

So I'm guessing that's a YES and a NO, Lando?

I went for a yes...... Even though we won th CL last year (which was fantastic of course), I lost a lot of years of my life watching the team play as you just get the feeling that anything can happen.... we didn't have that aura of inevitable victory that we used to have with the Liverpool teams of the past...

This year, everytime we took to the field, I've felt more sure that we were gonna win....

For re-instilling that aura alone, I feel that Rafa and the boys have done much better this year.

i will have to take this season over last season, i know we won the champions league last term  but this season has been an amazing season in the premiership to finish just 9 points behind chelski after a bad start just goes to show how far we have come under rafa benitez, and now the FA CUP...i honestly feel with all my heart and soul we are going to win the title next season...next season with a few good signings we should have the best liverpool team since the 80,s

This season has definitely been better IMHO.
Although the CL win eclipses anything we've done for the last 20 years, this season has seen us the most competative  since the late eighties. We've only lost one home game in the league all year, we've broke all kinds of records and we've won two trophies.
Despite the European Cup win last year, the season was littered with too many poor results - most notably Crystal Palace and Burnley.
The title is a realistic possibility once again.

i think that if we were 2 years ago we would be probably champions of England but they(chelsea) have the money but we have the iron will, the heart and we play football just for football! Cheers to all our players i think it was a magnificient season! we have a quality of players like Gerrard, Carragher , Alonso , Dudek(remember vs. Milan) , Reina , Hypia , and many others that they souldn't leave ! and wehave also a fantastic manager and i think that we will have a lot of good surprises! I have a dream in my life Visiting Anfield road because when i watch my LFC in tv some times i cry some times i play the manager some times i weep for joy some times i was terribly sad to water ,some times i have the goose pimples we i lissen to you... all this in front of my tv i can't imagine what it will be if i was in anfield road ! i hope that it won't be just a dreame!
You will never walk alone
when we don't have what we love, we must love what we have!

We haven't had the drama of last season, but this season we've been more consistant, tighter, stronger, sharper and we look more like a championship winning team. Bring on next season.

I just think this topic is just nonsensical.
Everything may happen in the field.
Remember the 3rd goal of WB?
That's impossible, so that was my first response.
Isn't that lucky?

I'd say this season has been better in terms of understanding what Benitez wants, playing good quality football and getting the results. We have made mass improvements in our playing ability and consistancy whilst winning another trophy in one of the best domestic cup finals for years.

Last season was amazing, we were inconsistent in the League and we got to two cup finals losing one to Chelsea and playing in the best cup final anyone has ever seen. This season we finished 9 points behind Chelsea from a staggering 40 the season before. We finished 3rd from 5th and alrite 3rd is nothing to boast about or be overally happy with but it shows we are heading in the right direction, I said if we failed to land the F.A Cup than this season would be a failure, we'll we won in the most fantastic fashion and that gives me an enourmous sense of well-being.

Roll on next season.

We have improved this season.

While we went on to win the CL last season, we went out to Benfica due to our very obvious shortcomings which we managed to compensate for last season - short of width, speed and lack of clinical finishing in attack - which needs to be addressed a.s.a.p.

We are much more consistent both in Europe and domestically. A very big step in the right direction.
