I was made up when we signed Kewell, like the majority of LFC fans.
I would of preferred Duff but thought bringing in Kewell at the price we did was brilliant business.
He has let himself and the fans down with his attitude at times, and he has also been very unlucky with injuries.
He is on his last chance with me, and has already used it with some fans.
But if you can honestly tell me that you were disappointed when we signed him i would be very surprised.

i never liked him when at leeds either

Fair enough, but you were definately in the minority on that one.

Clueless!!

With all due respect judge I would stick to General Chat mate. I think within this forum, that section is definetely your 'speciality' mate.

I mean threads like 'Luis Garcia is rubbish because he gives the ball away......discuss' and 'Harry Kewell is just a pretty boy, and I think hes rubbish too....discuss' :no really tedious.

Sorry just my opinion.

My view on Harry FWIW is that it is clear that he has been plagued by injury over the last 18 months to produce the form we actually purchased him from Leeds for.  Lets see what an injury free Harry can produce, and then judge. This season is critical for Harry and his future at LFC.

However that said I am 110% behind ANY player that pulls on the red jersey of LFC.

At that time, Kewell at 5 million seemed much better business than Duff at 17 million, I don't think anyone can seriously dispute that.

Back then, Kewell had been excellent for Leeds for about 4-5 years, whereas Duff had been average for Blackburn in his early days before he had about 2 excellent seasons for them.  I rated Duff slightly higher than Kewell at the time, but not by much.

Also, when we signed Kewell, it was Duff who had more of a reputation for being on the treatment table too often.  You just can't always predict how these things will pan out.

Duff for 17 million?  No thanks.  The guy is a quality player, but he's not far behind Kewell in terms of being injury prone.  Chelsea is the best club for Duff because they have a big squad and can replace him with quality when he's injured.  I haven't checked the stats but I'll bet Duff hasn't completed more than about 25 games a season since signing for Chelsea.  He has a dodgy shoulder that he's dislocated more than once and has cartilage problems with his knees - the latter is BAD news for a footballer.  I doubt if Duff will be playing top-flight football much beyond 30.

My point is that if we'd signed Duff and not Kewell, then I still think we'd be complaining that he is always injured, just like with Kewell (especially since we'd have spent 17 million and not 5).  I'm not holding my breath for Kewell to get back to his best for us, but I really hope he does.  He could be just the player we need in this 4-5-1/4-3-3 Benitez persists with.

max, please dont respond to my posts, as i dont recognise you exist.

if you dont like my threads then fucking post elsewhere. there have been many posts in this one and the luis garcia one, so perhaps they are all idiots aswell, by what you are saying.

i'll stick to what i want, and you stick to being a twat, as your good at it

now fuck off child, or tell me where you live, you spineless internet weakling

furthermore, you say you are behind the team 110%, so am i, but i go to more matches than you. Your probably an armchair supporter.

i apologise to the rest of the good folk on here for my rant, but max is a real unintelligent tit

I'd never really noticed how often Duff is injured until you mentioned that...and you are probably right he was out for a while last season, and more than once i think.
Judge although the way maximus put his reply might of offended you his reasoning made sense.
To suggest that Kewell was signed to attract female fans while i realise it must of been a joke, i replied giving you the oppurtunity to explain it...and you stood by what you said.
No wonder your getting criticised lad.
I posted a reply as soon as you started this thread agreeing that Kewell has let LFC down at times and stating that he owes us, but i questioned your timing of starting the topic...as at the time he was just coming back from injury and needs supporters to actually support him.
The criticism is not warranted at this stage imo.
Give the lad a break.

its nice you call me lad :D , kewell wasnt bought to attract females, but he does though :D , he is just another frustrating guy, that doesnt look bothered when on the pitch. I mean, i'm not the only one who sees this. I have seen kewell play all the time (when he has), and he has never impressed me at all.

look at the cl final, what a farce he was then. faining injury, and then, and get this, running like a wild man at the end of the penalties. No sign of injury then

Ace, max has a go, coz he's a sad fuck, and not coz ive said owt wrong.

you seem ok though mate

I agree with some of what your saying i have been as frustrated as anyone when it comes to Kewell because a fit and in form HK could make a major difference to our attacking options.
After the final i was a bit critical of him to, but he is still out now so i dont think he was feigning injury.
You would of had alot more support in what you are saying most of last season...and even after the champions league final, but to start the thread just when fans are allowing themselves to get a little bit optimistic was a bit strange imo.

ive seen wonderous players at lfc in my time, and i dont know how old you are, but when youve been used to success and quality, then you see the likes of kewell, it makes you sick.

he will never be good enough for lfc. i reckon rafa will sell him when he is full fit, lets hope in january, coz we could use the funds to buy someone more sturdy and classy. imo

Once again, clueless.

Judge do you REALLY think he was faining injury in the CL Final................DO YOU!!. IMO he was one of the few players up to the point of his substitution, who actually seemed like penetrating the Milan midfield/defence.

However like so many others who jump on the 'Kewell bandwagon' you seemed to have formed an opinion, which probably makes you 'popular' with the masses on this forum, something that probably suits your ego no doubt.

I did not see you starting Gerrard is cr.ap posts last season, when he himself declared he had an under par season overall last season, would not of been very popular would it??

As for going to matches, I do not broadcast what matches I go to and when, I do not need to do that to bolster my ego. I do have my doubts whether you go to the matches anyway, thats just a feeling though.

Just out of interest where did you sit in Istanbul, because I do not remember seeing a great big bell end situated amongst the Liverpool supporters, that is of if you did actually go, like you so proudly said at the time ???

26 mate, so i have seen a bit of both.
From the brilliant Barnes to Mark Walters.
Kewell is somewhere in between the 2 imo.
He has the ability to turn a match and will score plenty of goals in any team if he can stay fit and play regulaly.
Dont expect to see him going anywhere too soon though, his wages are far too high for another club to take a gamble on him.

To be honest... im really excited about kewell coming back from injury, in his first season he proved a valuable player scoring alot of goals and creating wonderful assists. although his form dipped in the 2nd season, he still has alot of good talent, his injuries put him down and i hope the operation he took would help him get his leeds form once again!
