Correct.Harry cost us 5mil and a large signing on package if im correct-true, Duffer woulda cost at least £15m, but IMO he's a far trickier player than Kewell. Harry doesn't run at people- he just doesn't and thats what he's there for. Duff was brilliant for chelsea for a good 2 years anyway, he has lost his way somewhat. I'd rather have Rafa trying to motivate Duffer than Harry. Im not sure Damien would get the same wages as Harry either.

Im more than happy to be proved wrong on Kewell- i hope he does, cos it will be good for the club and it will mean we're on our way to a title.

I think that must be it because from where I stand an on form Kewell is twice the player an on form Duff is

How is he one of our best players?? Thats a ludicrous statement- he's done very little ona  consistent basis to warrant such praise- this is what annoys me about the whole thing.

He certainly has the potential to be such , but im afraid potential needs converting to ability.


he's better than Gonzalez yes, and so will strengthen the team- but that's a problem in itself.

Im not having a go cos he's injured, im having a go cos he has no balls on the pitch and he's been a passenger for the majority of the time he's been with the club.

If Harry is our most skilful player then therein lies the problem with the club at the moment.... sorry but im not a fan of Mr Kewell's input to date

Duff is so overhyped its unbelievable, had a promising talent when he was younger but has no way near fulfilled that promise.
duff hasnt done anything in years he had 2 average seasons with chelsea, and he is always injured, if he was up to the job mourinho would have kept him...Newcastle paid 5 million for him and i reckon they got done...

duff n kewell are diff type of player but both are briliant footballers and unfortunetly injury prone btw he left chelsea because he was not gettin 1st team football as often as he liked.Mourinho was gutted when duffy wanted to leave chelsea

chelsea signed him and while he did a good job, i feel they put a leash on him. he wasn't running at people enough, but he can.

I agree he hasn't been the same since leaving chelsea, but what Harry offers us is only brilliant on paper- you cant afford to have a player sitting around for years on big money and not jutifying it, and im talking about when fit.

look at scholes for united, season before last he lloked way outta sorts in that team then last seaon he was out the entire season pretty much. now look at him this season! he has something to prove, lets hope Harry can do the same and pull at least one quality season out of the bag before his career is over!

good point....how sick will people be if we sell Kewell and he then has 4 injury free seasons and plays to his potential?

Agree with that, like i said i hope kewell does turn it on.

The difference is though, Scholes was merely out of form, Ive yet to see harry excel for Liverpool. It's harsh, but with big money and a big reputation came big big expectation.

it has yet to be delivered on. Last season's flurry was only a fraction of what he is capable of. Are we wrong to expect more or should we be happy with 'playing alright'??

i believe that he is capable of great things still! the semi final against chelsea last year although only one game showed us glimses of what he is capable of if really put to the test. that is a good thing, not his fault he picked up arthritus in his foot and groin injury that is recurring!

its not his fault, but its not the clubs either.

Say Harry is available for selection by mid March, you're talking the end of the season before he is in anyway sharp.... then theres the break.

Before we can get a chance to see what he's made of this time you're looking at next Christmas.

Im not one for making harsh judgments. This HAS to be his last chance though
