Carragher should have had the award hands down, I was shocked they gave it to Terry.

:)

well said, was thinking the same thing.  except i don't think they'd be overly honoured, just happy to be recognised.

Is this award based on performance in the champions league alone? If it is, Carra shd win it and my opinion is not biased cos im a liverpool fan. Carra certainly perform above terry in the champions league last season. Just see how many goals (apart from the final) which we conceded.

However, as highly as i rate our Carra, i have to admit, if it comes to the whole package, Terry is the better defender. Carra is great, even immense for us, but he is not world class im afraid. He is not tall, not fast and his positional sense, distribution and goal scoring are all behind Terry's but he more than makes up for that with his committment, fighting spirit and strong desire to win.

IMO, Terry is an accomplished defender, in fact i rate him the best centreback in the premiership at the moment, but then again, carra is the type of player every fan would want to be on his team. Better a fiercely committed player who is liverpool through and through than an expensive highly rated player who ends up like Jaap Stam at United. In other words, If Terry were playing for us instead of Carra, he may not have the same impact as to what Carra brings to the team here.

Carra may not be the best defender in England, but to me, he's a Liverpool Legend already.  :buttrock
