Also met the biggest ****** footballer ever - Ian Walker when he was playing for spurs. He tried to blag his way into the Frank Bruno v Olicer Mcall heavyweight title fight and when i would not let him in he asked me if i knew who he was.
I told him he was the bloke who played the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz!

I met a few celebs during Euro 96 where i was working as a steward at Wembley. Fantastic.
Met Lineker and Ian Wright coming out of one of the boxes when we were all in the long bar waiting for our pay. Also my mate showed Zoe Ball to her seat for one match.

I had the pleasure of mtg the grt Bobby Moore, when I was about 16ish... at the bottom of my parents road was a solicitors firm.. which was advertising the "Bobby Moore Soccer Schools" on a nice bronze plaque.. . any how on my way bak from school one day .. there the grt man was standing .. so I calmly walked past him then bombed it up the street.. got me autograph bk and he duly signed..

The other grt legend I met was the man on me Avatar... Diego .. in 1986.. Pasadena California.. the Rose Bowl Stadium .. he was playing for the FiFA world 11 against the Rest of the World.. as the teams came out for the warm-up.. there he was... I was screaming .. "Oh my god its him.. its Diego Maradona" and then he stopped to  sigh Authographs.. and got to me.. wow.. I could have died.. and that sexy smile.. wahaayy.. anyhow.. got his signiture ... and a whole load of ppl just cramed into the area I was sitting in to catch a glimpse and see him .. certainly the most awesome moment for me ..

I think the coolest people I ever met were James Hetfield (Metallica), Frank Bruno and George Harrison. But all in one day? No. Nice one mate. Have you washed your hands yet?

Thats a great story  JonnyMac , thanks for sharing it  with everyone. Its kinda  heartwarming reading annecdotes like that , nice warm up to sunday me thinks .

I'm not going the race meeting at Aintree this year for one reason or another, but my family are.

I've arranged for my Dad to go and have a pint for an hour with Roger Hunt, Ian Callaghan, Gordon Banks and Brian Labone.  He's absolutely over the moon about it.  He's taking his camera.

As you can see, a few favours for people here and there can get you a long way....
