Mates, mates, mates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like rumours. I hate them. If I said that Prieto of RS, might end up in Liverpool is because I have reasons to fear it.

I have some "supposedly" quotes of Rafa, that would confirm this, or at least, wouldn't deny it.

My question, are this guys of this press reliable? I've known that while that "Liverpool echo" is reliable according to some of you, other press are not.

http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liv....ge.html

Please, tell me if this is true, or debunk it. I haven't had time to read the forum this 2 days, excuse me if this has been raised.

Also, I have pending a translation. It comes from the coach of Gonzalez in Albacete, who does a full report for our local press.. ASAP I'll do it.

Nothing wrong. It's just that I fear that we'll sell a player that will be on the level of Joaquin in 3 years, for a bargain price. If he has to leave, better to my second team, but my "fears" are concerning the policy of the RS board, when it comes to youth system, and how players are sold, not concerning Liverpool. For Liverpool , it would be good, forgive me my bias, for once! :)

My question is, is that press serious, or it's a "cráp-talk"ish unreliable site?

this may seem a daft question...but how does being refused a work permit in, i presume the UK, ahead of it being england. bear any difference (relating to uefa and the EU here)for being allowed to go to Real Sociedad on loan? bearing in mind spain are part of the EU. arent they?

sorry if its an obvious answer, but after a 12 hour shift and no tea yet, me minds a bit vague  :p

can sabre tell us more about xabi prieto  ???

Back off Brussels ! :D

It's not obvious, it just that the policy that has denied the permit to Gonzalez, is just british? not UE?

According to my press Rafa wants him in Spain for that reason, if he comes here on loan, he'll be entitled to ask for Spanish passport, because Chilean citizens can ask that when they are 2 years in Spain (long story). And with Spanish passport the DoE cannot screw us any more, because that UE rule that allows UE citizens to work in england would be above the local policy.

That's my guess.

Xabi Prieto: Pure right winger, increasing spectacularly. Features: great crosses, and excellent dribbling. Weakness: physicallity, he must work in the gym, but he's YOUNG. He'll be in the Spanish Squad very soon. Even in Madrid they appreciate the player.

In the rumour thread I posted a while ago that a friend of the player says that he'll come here. And I trust him because everytime he said a rumour was true. So he earned the credibility. This article would be a confirmation or something of the rumour. I think that when he says that they're struggling for top 4, Rafa is fooling the people to look somewhere else, the best right wingers Joaquin and Prieto, are not struggling for top 4 :)

What I see difficult is a swap. With Betis would be possible, but not with us. We'd love to have Hamman for instance, but we cannot afford it. Our team is humble, and 100% of the players of Liverpool are far beyond our wages possibilities; Simply, no Liverpool player would come here. Betis pays more money in wages, though.

So, are those quotes really from Rafa?

thanks for that reply sabre. things are dealt with in the uk very confusingly  :(

prieto is one ive not seen on spanish football (sky) and ive watched a couple of RS games, maybe he wasnt playing that time. but from what you say, he sounds like he would fit the bill.
strength and stamina im sure could be gained from being kicked all over the premiership, he'd soon find out, ask nando!

i like the sound of the idea of a swap, perhaps including another of our players who knows, you can have traore  ???

:D

btw did you watch zaragoza vs barca last night? good match!

I'd pick Traore any day of the week . ???  The fact that he's not good enough for Liverpool and he's very nervous everytime he's on the pitch (he's under pressure and not many can handle that) doesn't mean that he's not far better than our shi!te defenders.

Zaragoza - Barcelona , no only highlights, I had not time :(

But shows us that

* Without  Etoo, Barcelona is not unbeatable. 4 - 2.

* I was wrong with Ewerthon, he's class.

* People that say MIlito is not class as a CB, is plainly wrong. He is.

his brother didnt look too bad either. i understand about barcelona's absentees, particularly the 'spine' of puyol, deco and et'o and most notably xavi. and ESPECIALLY valdez!!
chelsea must have thought it was christmas without those 5, hope to god they all return (xavi excepted) for the CL.

ewerthon looked on fire first half and should have had a hat-trick. overall though zaragoza played well and look a very strong outfit.

Sabre, Benitez spoke of a swoop for Gonzalez and he mentioned that he was a right winger. Your fears might come true, it could be Prieto.

Anyway the news I have is that Rafa wants Xabi Prieto for next season, not January. It would be a shock if that happened right now.

Did he say Gonzalez is a right winger, though? I didn't understand that from the article! can you point me out where?

No, the player we're swooping for is a right winger while Gonzales is a left winger.

"Right now I am thinking about another player in Spain, maybe in a swop, if it's possible. A right-winger. But we cannot say names because then we have problems.

"It's difficult because the big clubs and the big players are fighting to be in the top four and in European competition, and clubs won't sell those players. In this situation, I say again, we must use our imagination."

Doh, I misunderstood you, A.B. Sorry, I'm tired this week!

Gonzalez deal is supposed to be almost done,  the deadline is on tuesday ... His former coach says he's top class. Unusual jump ability that makes him good in headers although he's small. Terrific shot according to him. Pacy, few defences are quicker than him, if any. He says he crosses more because his acceleration and dribbling ability than because his touch (I'm not sure this is good though)

He also says that he shouldn't feel too much the pressure of Anfield, because he's an idol in Chile so he's used to the pressure. He says he has still time to grow as a player. In the first stages he didn't defend well, he says, but he tought him to do so and has improved that part of the game a lot (will be handy for the premier that).

And he ends the interview saying "Gonzalez is my best player, now he's gone I can say it"

Sabre here's something new from Sky Sports

Liverpool are poised to follow up the capture of Robbie Fowler with the signing of Deportivo La Coruna winger Victor.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez has made no secret of his desire to bring in a winger during the January transfer window and had been linked with a host of names.

Benitez has seen moves for Atletico Madrid's Luciano Galletti and Benfica's Simao Sabrosa hit the rocks, prompting the Spaniard to switch his attentions across La Primera to Depor.

The Reds are close to striking an accord with Depor and Victor has not made the trip to Madrid for the weekend clash with Atletico.

Victor, who has recently returned to fitness following a thigh injury, is expected to head to Merseyside on Sunday to discuss terms and undergo a medical.

A three-and-a-half-year deal is set to be put on the table and Benitez will hope to wrap up the transfer before the window slams shut on Tuesday.

Victor has class in abundance, having turned out for Real Madrid in the past, and Benitez will hope the 29-year-old can add some attacking thrust to his side.

Have you seen Victor play? Btw he's been left out of the Deportivo squad for tomorrow's game.
