Thats not luck mate thats what you call going for the jugular leaving 2 strikers on and bringing on two more and throwing the kitchen sink at the other team.
Instead Rafa takes off two strikers those three players that marked Torres then push up to get an equalizer, instead of bringing on Babel a player with pace he moves Duck Kite upfront who could still be playing now but would still not score.
Because of this dont get beat mentality its going to cost us in the end, what has changed since earlier in the season? Getting beat by City and Wigan and scoring 3 goals to win both fixtures going for the jugular instead Rafa has reverted to his old ways and cautious mentality instead of going all out to win.
Ofcourse the players have to take responsibilty aswell it isnt all Rafas fault they just think Gerrard will get us out of the sh!t so dont pull their tripe and help out.
We are 3 points ahead of Villa but are joint top and these draws have to come to a halt because these are doing the damage its ok for people to say yer but we are still unbeaten at home for over a year.
Just imagine them draws we have had this season where turned into wins we would be atleast 9 points clear by now.
Its no one elses fault but our own and should we finish 3rd or 4th again this season we will have blown the best chance we have ever had of winning the league and it will be a very bitter pill to swallow.

Why what's it going to do , jinx our chances ? So it's ok for fans to big ourselves up and have ago at other teams , but once the manager or players do it there wrong .

Yeah...when it is being proved (at least in the last few weeks) if they can't back up "the talk"...its better for them to shut the h@ll up and concentrate on football.....
Manure have gone about somewhat quietly and look at the run they have obtained (they are already in their 1st cup final).

Hardly any input for most of the game, then bang, gets winning goals late in the game. Keane get 60-65 mins, and is hauled off. Keane COULD get goals late on, if he STAYED on, and was given a chance.
Of course his performances are bad recently, thats because he is Rafa's victim week in, week out, whether on the pitch, or exhibited on the bench, like a schoolboy sent to stand in the corner. I hope he throws a wobbler & gets the fu.ck out and does brilliant for whoever signs him, for his own sake.
Rafa prefers not to loose, than to win. Way too negative, for players like Keane, and dare I say Torres.
Keane didn't become bad overnight.
It is a gradual, continual eroding of the players confidence by the manager.

Well if Keane is Rubbish IYO, what does that tell you about the manager splashing out the money he did on him? No wonder the board are questioning and reviewing Rafa's potential acquirements with his erratic player judgement.

It is a gradual, continual eroding of the players confidence by the manager. The manager is destroying the player and also the clubs investment, as if we wanted to sell him on, we'd be lucky to get back 50% of the fee spent on him.
Istanbul has been and gone. It looks like 2008-2009 will be a season of "If Only" come what May. Looks like 2nd place could even be a battle, now with Viila coming into form, and Arsenal will probably turn it on for the run in, which could possibly mean our aim could be whats becoming the perennial fight for 4th spot? Mediocrity strikes again.......
I could be wrong, and stand to be corrected. Just quote this back to me at the end of the season,
and call me the biggest fooookwit you want, and I would gladly accept the derision. I'll run the gauntlet right or wrong.

I suppose in the end it was Crouch's decision to leave but to be quite honest with you, Rafa's treatment of him was nothing short of a disgrace. I suppose the CL final in 2007 was the prime example of this. If you looked at the bench last night, with Torres and Keane both off, we had f#ck all to change the game. Babel could possibly be used upfront but it's extremely unlikely and El Zhar and Ngog are young and unproven at this level. Ok Crouch wasn't treated fairly by Rafa, but it never stopped him showing his class whenever he played. That's the difference. CLASS. Unfortunately, Keane doesn't have enough of it to be a Liverpool player.
Now I'm not Heskey's biggest fan but if we could get him for cheap he could do a decent job short term and at least provide an alternative to what we have. Nobody will ever convince me that Kuyt is good enough and Heskey would bring more out of those around him aswell. Owen is also a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned from a football perspective but just wouldn't fit in to our preferred system. We need to get back to 4-2-3-1 as soon as possible.
I can agree with most of this. For Keane to play well, he needs a player that can make the ball stick up front and bring him into the game more. Too often last night I noticed long balls being knocked up to him and he just couldn't find the control and power to hold it up when he was central. Keane needs a target player. He is not a lone striker, a role which he has been asked to do a few times for us, and done to the best of his ability.
His lack of consistency on the pitch can be put down to a few factors, according to opinion of course. It's my opinion that Keane just doesn't know what the f*ck he is meant to be doing at the moment; what position he is meant to be playing in. He's constantly having his role on the pitch changed about. Is that down to Rafa, or is it down to Torres not being fit most of the time?
On Monday we saw him drift out wide right and try to put crosses into the area. Then he was central and just didn't have a kick. A Heskey type player could seriously benefit Robbie, but then again, it's also down to the manager to try and get the most out of that combo, or the player himself, which is where I have to throw in the towel and capitulate to the fact that Rafa just hasn't done this enough and it's resulted in Keane's confidence being shot to shreds.
Another feature of our play that's sorely been lacking is our wide play. Not from the left, because Riera is doing an admirable job there, but on the right. Again, Heskey could be a good solution and a decent open out there, even though he's obviously not a winger, but he could open things up on that side with his power and pace, and ability to hold things up allowing for the likes of Torres and Keane to be where they need to be: in or around the box. It's time to give Kuyt a rest, Rafa.

If we'd have had Crouch playing the lone striker role this season in the absence of Torres, we'd have picked up significantly more points imo. He would have held the ball up effectively and given an opportunity for the runners to get involved in the play more.
