I agree LiverpoolAnytime

Captain ? E Hughes, P Thompson and Souness were Captains

Judas will never be spoken about in same breath, i really want all Photographs of him with European Cup edited and him removed
He didnt win anyting that night .......... Thompson comes on the telly and in fairness Liverpool aint been that fair to him over the years but HE LOVES Liverpool, if they were to ask to come back and help in anyway he would, this is loyalty, that is a Scouser and he is a Captain ..........

But why the f*** has he gone???I really ,really don't understand it. He's been offered £100k a WEEK, plus whatever he wants for the future. There is no other club with such a potentially fantastic future or that feels so exciting  to be part of. It can't surely be money - he must be a multi millionaire by now anyway.  So what the hell is it?? If he wants to live in Spain he has the rest of his life to do it. I am totally bewildered and angry too, like everyone else. We can manage without him as a player as we have done in the past when others have left, but he has humiliated us all - the fans, Rafa, the other players and the board and I really hate him for that. :veryangry  :veryangry  :sniffle  :sniffle

Steven Gerrard has just given a statement to Sky Sports news

" I was fully intent on signing a new contract after the final but after the events of the last 5 weeks i have had to make the hardest desicion of my life. I have too much respect for the club to get into a slagging match."

i sitting here typing and i am absolutely gutted, how can he leave us like this after winning the big one and five weeks later tell the club he wants to leave.it,s lucky we have king rafa because this sort of situation happened at valencia when mendieta  handed a transfer request and got sold for 37 million to lazio and look what happened to him since then, benitez bought vicente baraja albelda and others and won the title two years out of three.he is experianced at this situation and i,m sure he will build another team with the proceeds to go with the hero,s of the ataturk .chin up fellow reds rafa will sort this out for the better and will make us a better team.

Steven Gerrard has released a statement to Sky Sports News explaining why he wants to leave Liverpool.

The England midfielder admits the decision to quit his boyhood idols has been a gut-wrenching one and that his initial thought after the UEFA Champions League victory was to remain at Anfield.

However, he has changed his mind, as he did last term when snubbing a move from Chelsea to commit his future to the Merseysiders.

"The last six weeks have been the toughest of my life," he informed Sky Sports News. "The decision I have come to has been the hardest decision I have ever had to make.

"I fully intended to sign a new contract after the Champions League final but the events of the past five or six weeks have changed all that.

"I have too much respect for the club and the people at it to get involved in a slanging match."

F**kin doesnt tell us anything, spineless badge kisser. Im gutted

At least he won't get to parade the cup at Anfield. There is always something endearing about a captain lifting the trophy, when he did, it was like I lifted it with him. He has ruined it and does not deserve to be remembered in the same breath as Hughes (R.I.P), Thompson and Souness.

:censored: off Stevie and don't ever come back.

Lest us forget our number 8, lest us not forget what he did to us.

Figo does not cost anything. He is out of contract. The only reason he hasnt signed yet for anyone is becasue his wage demands are to high.

he has shown his true colours now, at least we wont have another year like this, it must have affected the rest of the team with nothing else in the news other than will gerard go or wont he, he can f*** off, we dont need him, we proved it enough times last season, i am looking forward now to sew what rafa will do with the money, we must get at least £35mil for him, imagine what rafa will do with that money hes proved he is a great buyer.
we already have the perfect replacement in alonso, and i am looking forward to seeing carra develop into a great captain for us, who will be lifting the league when we win it,
