If his heart is not in it any more 37 Million would go a long way to rebuild the squad in the summer.

No cos they'd offer us a player like nunez
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

If Gerrad goes i will be sad to see him go as ive always thought that he is a supporter first , then a football player.

If we get 35 -40 million for him  then as a lot of people have said it will really help  rebuild the team and i have real faith in Raffa to use the money wisely.

Does anyone remember when Keagan left for Hambourg ? everyone was asking how were we going to replace him......then a certain Mr Dalglish arrived from north of the border and became one of the greatest legends in Liverpool history.

In all honesty  ( and again its a personal point of view )  we allready have a ready made replacement here ......Alonso..... think about it , when SG was injured we coped well , the team was getting results and starting to gell and play the way Raffa wanted them too.
Alonso gets injured and  bang.......3  ****** results on the bounce , team looks pants  no cohesion no play. Alonso is like the John Barnes and Jan Molby of old , he dictates the midfield , has a wounderful passing touch and a footballing brain that SG and most other players envy.

I would hate to see SG go as i really think he and Alonso would make a superb world class midfield partnership , Alonso  dictating the passing and SG playing off him , out of the two  tho i think Alonso has more influence as a whole  plus he doesnt have a habit of going it alone or rash tackles and even when having a bad game , still looks  good .

Turns out that 80 million bid was to scare Barca somehow.

Eh as long as we get a good amount for Gerrard I won't complain, he's been great for us but nobody is going to stop him from going. I rather us play as a team than stay Gerrard FC and read in the papers that Gerrard was the only one playing for LFC.

Gerrard's Y-Fronts wrote:Two points......................

1. This is pure speculation and nothing more.

2. There isn't any player good enough to keep Gerrard on the bench at any team so he certainly wouldnt be signed by anybody as 'cover'.

well i doubt chelsea would play gerrard instead of lampard no matter how good gerrard's playing and same with playing gerrad instead of zidane.(i think zidane is good enough to keep gerrard on the bench).

They would probably replace Makalale[spelling?] with Gerrard.

If real would like gerrard and he wants to go then insist on having zidane as part of the package with 20mil. Real need someone to play hardball with them because we certainly have come off second best in our dealings with them so far.
Zidanes age could work in our favour.

BOSS: WE WANT TO BUILD TEAM AROUND GERRARD
Paul Eaton 26 January 2005
Rafael Benitez last night saluted his super skipper after Steven Gerrard fired Liverpool into the Carling Cup final.
Gerrard was again the Reds' hero with a second half winner which took the club to its tenth League Cup final - and their third in the last five years.

"He is a key player," said Benitez. "When he plays well the team plays well.

"He is important for us, and it is our idea to have a strong team around him. That is our idea for the future.

"He has some fitness problems but that is not important for now. We need to be careful with him but we want to play Gerrard in every game if possible.

"I have not been surprised by how good he is. I knew before I came here, but it is even better to watch him in training every day."
