to be honest i'm pretty chuffed Torres hasn't won anything. Keeps him hungrier for next year. I mean, would he have the desire knowing he's already the best player in the league, next year he has to prove himself all over again.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Not that I give a toss about these things, we all know who the true player of the year is - coughTORREScough :lookaround .
But Fabregas getting the young PFA award is the biggest load of bollox I've heard this year!!
Apart from his goal in the San Siro what has he truthfully done this season?? ???

Spot on there GBJH!  :buttrock

I'm gobsmacked..Fabregas YPY? WTF? Ronaldo or Torres I could understand, but Fabregas? now that's an absolute joke considering he's done feck all to deserve it.

Torres and Ronaldo have been the best players this season FACT!

I personally think it's turned into a popularity contest. You can't doubt Ronaldo is a valuable player, but Torres has proved himself to be a big threat in his first year.

They vote on these things at the turn of the year so no surprise that Fabregas got the young player award.

Voting this week might have given both awards to Torres.

People saying Fabregas has done nothing this season is a joke.

It says something about the knowledge of the people on this site these days... :no

It's stupid that the votes are made in January.  Fabregas would never have won that award if they voted at the end of the yr.

torres should have got young player of the year but just because he didnt doesnt mean fabregas should be slagged off on here, hes a great player whos performed very well this season and is more then worthy of winning this reward

When does a YOUNG player stop being a YOUNG player ? Everybody bitching about Torres not at least getting the YOUNG player award, he's 24 years of age ffs !

20 year old Fabregas fully deserved his award.

shouldnt be a young player award, should be a breakthrough award... sopmeone who ahs had there first prem season... that would make more sense, esp considering its always the asme people up for both at the moment how it stands.

Fabregas deserved the young player of the year imo.

This was voted for around christmas time so from the periods that they were lookin for yes he deserved it

Who cares? Ronaldo was always going to win the PFA award, FWIW, and reputation will always play a big hand in these OPINION based awards. Would we swap Torres for Ronaldo or Fabregas? Now that's an interesting question/debating point, not the poxy awards that mean diddly and are no substitute for trophies.

The fact that the POTY award rarely goes to keepers or defenders shows how naff it is, I think even Fabregas has a fair few measurable stats in terms of goals and assists. I find the PFA team a little more interesting, and sometimes funny when you see players shortlisted for POTY or YPOTY who don't even make the PFA team!

fact is i wouldnt swap veronin for ronaldo, dont like his attitude, no matter how good he is, he'll never be a liverpool player and wouldnt suit our team spirit and style and class
