Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Gerard Houllier certainly does not match the calibre of Dalglish, Paisley or Shankly, but is he more suited to be compared with the likes of Christian Gross? YOU DECIDE AND DISCUSS.....

No mate that's not fair even I would'nt say such a thing and I don't like Houlier.  I think houlier done brilliant job early on but somewhere he lost the plot, he took us to three trophies and then capitulated, its been sad to see and he is cr#p now but where did it all go wrong.  I really do think that the tablets he's on are messing his mind up. Its all too bloody sad.

Contrary to me starting this poll, I don't actually think Houllier has been that bad a manager, but I do believe that he has taken us as far as he can.

I started this discussion on the basis that, some people may actually believe he is as bad as Christian Gross considering the funds Houllier has had at his disposal while at Anfield. It was merely to start another 'Liverpoolfc' forum, riveting debate.

Houllier may not be the worst manager in England but he is certainly not the most entertaining.(Remember 70s-80s pass and move)

Gross achieved very little at Tottenham but Houllier has had some success at Liverpool. I think the comparison is not really fair because Houllier has spent over £100m in gaining what success we have had. A comparison with a Leeds manager (before the financial turmoil and sales) might be fairer
