Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

scorer.....

fowler to be championship top goalscorer

25-1

big price in my opinion.

if he stays fit and is serviced well he will demolish defences and goalkeepers of that quality.

what you think?

actually its more like 33-1 with most bookies

i just dont understand it, his goal tally last season for us was

7 in 16

hes only 32, his eye for goal is still sharp, not quite good enough against great defenders anymore but the rubbish in the championship

mad odds

for a £20 bet your return on a 33-1 would be close to £700

bear that in mind next time you are out on the pisss, save one £20 note and get it on robbie

He is quality still despite the much overused claim he is "past it". You would think moving down a level would mean he scores more, BUT he is also moving into a lesser team. If Cardiff can supply him then I'm sure he'll be a success, that is a big if though. He won't have Gerrard, Alonso, Riise, Pennant and co feeding him the ball (not that he did sat on the bench or out of the squad)

So it isn't a bad bet, BUT consider the effect of being a great player in a modest team. It is quite possible he will be frustrated, I did have a brief go at playing FIFA 07 as Cardiff with God up front and it was hard work with their existing players plus RF.

I reckon that's how the bookies determine their odds for strikers

The Championship is a lot more physical than the Premiership, and if anything, the pace is higher.

Hopefully his class will shine through, and the W*nk coward defenders won't go out to crock him every f*cking game.

I actually think that Fowler is going to find it hard. I am not sure of his frame of mind but unless he gives 110% he will be in for a shock. Yes the Championship is of a lesser standard but it is a very compeitive league and with a good cup run teams can play a lot of VERY competitive games.
For me Robbie's hunger has gone, he hasn't looked his old self since he was unceremoniously sold the first time round and I'd be very surprised if he could have another 25 goal season. He has the talent but fitness and drive seem to be the problem.
He's not like Shearer who was playing for the club he loved week in and week out and banging em in til he was 35. Sure 33-1 are nice odds and he COULD score a lot of goals, at the odds it's worth a fiver but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

decent bet 1/4 first 4 but there are a lot of decent strikers in the championship now: king, Cureton, Eastwood, Bent and Philips, all of which are used to the apce of the league.

ive had a lil bit on robbie tho

If he does hit anything like what he's capable of then Cardiff mightn't be a bad bet for promotion..............

he is the biggest signing Cardiff has made in many years, there is a massive buzz down here in Cardiff now he has joined, he will almost start every game for cardiff unless he gets injured, and hopefully ill be going to watch him next week if i can get time off, i know plenty of security at ninian park, so id say its definatley worth a flutter, and Cardiff are going in the right direction so a flutter on them gaining promotion would be worth it too,...

OMG God at CCFC, who would have thought that :P
