Do you really have a football shirt?

Such tough decisions, which name to get? Im thinking either Gonzales, Kewell, Bellamy, Fowler or Aurellio

The man almost single handedly won us the champions league wearing no. 1.  He earned it

Robbie was at his best when he wore the no. 23.

Take a look in some spanish teams Goalys seem to have the number 25 jersey even if they are the number 1 choice.

Victor Valdes, Barca
Leo Franco, At. Madrid
Pepe Reina, when at Villareal
Im sure there are a few others

Ive never understood it either but to Pepe the 25 jersey is the No.1 goaly top or so i believe any way.

I cant find any myths or official reasons on the net, but it seems to be spanish keepers mainly, maybe Sabre can help with this problem.

Back to my point about Robbie.

Do people believe he has been given his shirt number because of his importance to us this season, meaning he will be playing a lot of games and relieded upon,

or could it be just for sentimantal reasons.

I hope its the first one what do others think.

I suspect it's more sentimental than anything.  Coded signals through numbers is not Rafa's way.  The much-discussed Dudek example comes to mind--he might not even be the back-up keeper at this point let alone #1.  And, don't forget, Cisse was #9 last season and I doubt that's because Rafa rated him highly!  :D

I'm made up for Robbie though...can't wait to watch him roll back the years and starting scoring for fun again! :buttrock

Numbers nowadays aren't that important to be honest with you, although there is still an aura to the number 7 or 9 in my opinion at certain clubs.

But 9's the next best thing.

I have plenty of Liverpool shirts from down the years. I'm not all bad at least I put some of my hard earned money into the club.
