Fowler & anelka vs heskey baros - Which pair would we be best with now?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby bedlovedays » Mon Sep 29, 2003 12:00 pm

Which two are better?

Fowler & Anelka or Heskey & Baros ???? ???? ?????
Finishing is done by strikers, not ours but you know generally that is what we pay them to do.  Heskey is intolerably incompitent at it, Baros is young but so is Owen, if he cant do it why is he here?  Anelka can do it.

Baros had six breaks in the second last game of last year, missed em all.

For me it's Anelka and Fowler all the way?

Thoughts,  Votes? ???

lets face it, we're never gonna get anywhere with young emile up front, why oh why do we persist in only playing ONE striker who is actually capable of putting the ball in the net?  this guy must be on 40k per week yet when faced with the box manages about as much action as David Blayne?  in fact, he is never in the box.. COME ON EMILE, at least get in a position to threaten the goal rather than holding dudeks hand all the time!  i'm quite sure this could be a management decision?  if it is i'm baffled, surely young mellor should be chosen in favour of this expensive paper weight!?

Heskey does less in the box than David Blaine. Baros looks like he could come good one day. Anelka is moody but can finish fowler is poor and not apatch on what he was. None of these come close to the ruud boy!

Fowler will never be the player he was, mainly down to his succession of injuries over the last 2-3 years.Anelka is a fly by night, good one day ,cr#p the next two.Heskey cr#p for 5 games..good for the next 1/2 game.
Baros would have done well but for his season over injury.
nistelrooy will always bag goals because he is given so many penalties by blind refs and of course he is prone to cheat a little.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.

Another thread I've decided to bring back to life as again it still holds truth today.

In hindsight would of keeping hold of Cisse and Baros been a better option than Kuyt and Voronin. Obviously with Crouch and Torres as the first choice pairing, would Cisse and Baros been a better choice of forwards on the bench, instead of Kuyt and Voronin.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I'm bringing ones back that still hold a ring of truth around today. It's good to look back and see what people thought then to what they do now.

3 may be the magic number, but 5 is the amount of European Cups we've won, which is why I brought 5 back.

I like to think so.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
